Stories RYAN IS 3 YEARS AND 7 MONTHS March 10th, 2001 - Happy St. Patricks Day!!
![]() Ryan is moving right along, growing, playing, is happy and very excited that we are moving into a new house with lots of space and a big backyard for him to play in. He has picked out 'his' room, and keeps saying, "this is my new room". He has fun at school, home and church. It is hard to believe that he will be 4, in 5 short months. He continues to amaze us and as always, is a blessing. Happy Spring......
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY, 2010 - Ryan has had a great Valentines, beginning with a party at pre-school. He gave and got lots of Valentine Cards from his friends and teachers and brought home a 'goody basket' as well. He'd love to sit down and eat it all at one time - but have to limit the goodies. On Friday he took a little over night trip to see Nana and Papaw. By the time we got there it was snowing and they got about 3 inches. On mid-day Saturday, he had a chance to go outside and play in the snow, build a snowman and slide. We have posted a couple of pictures. Ryan is now 3 and 1/2 years old, is wearing his big boy underwear, is potty trained, sleeps through the night, goes to bed easy, eats anything he wants and loves to laugh and play. He can say anything he wants and carry on a nice little conversation with you. He is especially sweet when he is saying his prayers and thanking God for his food. We are very lucky to have this sweetie pie, our Valentine for sure. ![]() December 26, 2009 - We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. This was Ryan's 4th Christmas. He is 3 years and 4 months. He was so excited and absolutely loved opening his gifts. He is into 'tools' now - and he loves saws, hammers and drills. He wants to 'fix it', as he says. He celebrated with family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and was worn out by the end of each day - but was so happy. We went to see the Christmas lights at McAdenville and also Western Carolina Center. He is fascinated by all the different decorations and lights. Ryan is wearing 3T sizes and is growing and maturing so well. He eats well (loves cake, lol), sleeps through the night and is potty trained. He loves having stories read to him and of course, has his favorite books (Elmo). He likes to watch Veggie Tales, Blues Clues, Max and Ruby, Wiggles and Clifford. His attention span is longer now and he will watch his programs without loosing interest. He loves to say Grace before he eats and say his prayers before he goes to bed (he will remind you, if you forget too! LOL). We all had a great Christmas this year and are so thankful that God continues to bless us as He does. Happy New Year.
Oct. 8, 2009 - Happy Fall to everyone. Ryan is doing great. His energy level is off the chart and he never stops playing, running, talking, laughing and singing. He has a great vocabulary, vast imagination and always ready for adventure. He eats and sleeps well and can remember many things from the previous day. Ryan and Mommy went to the Renaissance Festival last weekend. This weekend, Lake Norman Mommies are having "Trunk or Treat" and Ryan will be going to that. He is going as Thomas the Train. All the car trunks will be full of goodies and this is an alternative to Trick or Treat, and will be fun. This is Ryan's third Halloween. He is a very sweet, happy and wonderful little boy. God just keeps blessing us.
August 18, 2009 - Ryan is now 3 years old, as of August 15th. He had a wonderful birthday celebrating with family, sharing cupcakes and balloons with his little friends at daycare and a nice trip to Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge, TN with Mommy, Nana and Aunt Vicki. He enjoyed getting to swim, ride lots of kiddie rides and feed the ducks on the river in Pigeon Forge. He had a fun packed weekend. Ryan is potty trained and loves wearing pull-ups. He eats anything he wants but has a fondness for sweets, his favorite being 'cake'. So, we have to really limit his sweets or that would be all he would eat. He has a great vocabulary and actually understand a lot more than he can say. It is so nice to be able to ask him a question and get the appropriate answer. He is such a happy little boy. We have made so many pictures of him over the years that when we get the camera out, he automatically says, "Cheese"! He takes one nap a day and always sleeps through the night. Life is Good. God has blessed us.
June 19, '09 - - Ryan is 2 years 10 months and 4 days. His #3 birthday is right around the corner. Where does the time go? He is enjoying something new - play dates. And he loves to go to Monkey Joe's to play and eat. Ryan has a little bit of seasonal asthma but his medication keeps everything under control. He is such a sweetheart and is very independent as well. He can say, do and eat anything he wants. Each day is different and we love it. May 28, 09 - Ryan is 2 yrs 9 month 2 weeks. He is enjoying everything, eating anything he wants, almost potty trained, talking up a storm, laughing all the time, sleeping through the night all the time now, and is so, so happy. He loves running and playing. He just got a 'tricycle' and a sandbox. He loves Elmo, Blues Clues, Max and Ruby, Barney and Sesame Street. He loves to have his Nursery Rhymes book read to him and any Dr. Seuss book. He can count to 10 with no help, 'sing' his ABC's as well as Jesus loves me, Ring around the Roses, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star - by himself. He 'tries' to brush his teeth (needs a little help with this J). He is just doing so well and we are having so much fun. April 13, 09 - Ryan is two years and 8 months. He had a wonderful Easter, hiding eggs, eating Easter candy, playing with his Easter Basket and visiting relatives. He is growing so much, eats about anything, sleeps through the night, is getting more social, loves laughing and playing. He can sing (by himself) Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Ring Around the Roses and he can sing his ABC if you sing with him. He can count to 5 alone and to 10 if you help him. He has a wonderful imagination. He is full of energy and very independent. A real sweetie.
April 1, 09 - How the time is flying by. Ryan is still doing good, eating everything, growing like a weed and learning to be very independent! I guess 2 years and (almost) 8 months old means 'His Terrible Two's are showing
J But he is healthy and recovered nicely from having tubes put in his ears. He actually hasn't been sick since then. He loves Elmo DVDs as well as Blues Clues, Baby Eienstein and Thomas the Train. He never slows down except to sleep. Wow what energy. He sleeps well in his own bed but has to have about 12 of his favorite stuffed animals in with him. These include Blues Clues and Elmo and his favorite little duck that he became attached to when he was about 4 months old. Hope everyone has a blessed Easter and a wonderful Spring. (Feb. 13, 2009) Happy Valentines Day. Ryan had to have tubes put in his ears two weeks ago and had his adenoids out at the same time. Hopefully he will now stay well. He is doing very well, is growing like crazy, eats good, sleeps good and is talking more and more. He never slows down J - and he is so much fun. He is using 3 word sentences now and sometimes four. He loves Elmo videos and has several Elmos that he sleeps with. (smile). We had about an inch of snow here in Charlotte last week and it was the first snow Ryan had seen - or that he could actually go outside and play in. I will post some pictures of this. We hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines day. God bless. December 27th, 2008 - I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I had a wonderful time. I had Christmas Fun at my Grandma and Grandpa Shimberg's on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day I had a great time at my Nana and Papaw Wages. I also had Santa at home on Christmas Eve. So many presents, so many goodies and so many people taking my picture. I can't wait for next year!! I am two years, 4 months and 2 weeks and doing well. I am eating well, sleeping good most of the time, love my day care friends, love visiting all of my grandparents ( they spoil me!). I can say anything I want to - and everyone can understand most of it. I can take my shoes off and put them back on but have a little difficulty with my socks. I am going to the potty fairly good (most of the time). I still need some work here, but I am very interested in it! I have my favorite books for bedtime stories, I love all of my Elmo DVDs, I love to laugh and play. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year. I plan to! God bless everyone. Love, Ryan
Nov. 29, '08 . . . Ryan had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year - his 3rd Thanksgiving. We continue to give thanks for how well Ryan has done and continues to do. He is now using 2 and 3 word sentences, feeds himself, is taking an interest in the potty, tries to take off and put on his clothes, loves Blue's Clues and Elmo, down to one nap a day and sleeps well at night. He has had a bit of upper respiratory problem recently and we've been using the Nebulyzer on him. He has done great with it especially since he has to sit still for 10 minutes with the face mask on. It helps too if Blue's Clues in on! ( smile) So far the Christmas tree is intact and when he wants to 'touch it' he puts out one little finger and very gently touches it. He has the sweetest smile and personality and loves life so much. We are so very thankful for him. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks for continuing to visit our babyhomepage.
Oct. 3, 2008 - Ryan is almost 26 months old and is enjoying every thing in life to the fullest. He is beginning to use two word sentences now - like: love you, bye bye, A-men and O.K. He is down to one long nap a day and goes to bed fairly easily at night. He fills each hour of each day with his energy and activities. He goes to day care at Hickory Grove Baptist Church and just got promoted to the 2 - 3 year old class and he loves it. He gets to wear his little back pack each day 'to school' and he is learning his colors as well as lots of other neat things. He has his own 'special friends' and they are always having fun. It just doesn't seem like he is over 2 years old. Hope everyone is having a nice autumn and we all say hello. August 15, 2008 - Today Ryan is two years old. We remember this day two years ago and how scared to death we all were. He only weighed 2 pounds, 4 oz, but he held on and God blessed him so much. Now he is a happy and active two year old and we are so thankful. Of course we are celebrating with family, with a big cake, lots of presents and lots of hugs. We love you sweet baby.
July 9, 2008 - Where does the time go? Ryan will be having his 2nd birthday next month, on the 15th and it is so hard to believe. He is doing really well. He loves to feed himself, can drink through a straw, loves cheeseburgers. He doesn't care too much for fries, which is a surprise. He is beginning to say more words and will nod his head up and down for yes, and back and forth for no. He has been going to the church daycare for a long time now, and has his 'friends'. He loves playing in the water in the bathtub about as much as playing with anything! Like most kids, he had rather play with things around the house, than with actual toys. He sways from side to side when he hears music and clap his hands. He is a happy and healthy little boy. . . a real sweetie!
June 1, '08 - Wow a month flies by. Ryan is doing great. Since he is walking, his appetite isn't as good as we'd like. He rather
'be doing' than
'be eating', but we evidently are getting enough in him as he is gaining weight. He loves finger foods but is getting 'pretty good' with a spoon of his own. Like most all kids, he loves McDonald's cheeseburgers and can eat a whole one. Even though he has most of his teeth, he is still teething and gets a little fretful at times with that. He is such a happy, independent and curious little boy and he is enjoying life to the fullest. He is such a blessing. He will be two in 10 weeks. He had his last visit with the cardiologist about 2 weeks ago and he has been released with no future visits. So he has done great and come a long way - for a little boy who weighed 2 lb and 4 oz at birth, then lost the 4 ounces. Have a Great June !
April 28, '08 Ryan is 20 months and 2 weeks old. He is walking very well and loves being out of doors. He has almost all of his teeth and has fun with his toothbrush. He drinks all of his liquids from his sippy and eats anything he wants. He is such a good baby that it is a little scary as he only cries if he is hurt, goes to bed easily with only his favorite blanket and stuffed toy & sleeps through the night. He is a healthy and happy little boy and a joy to have in our lives. Hope everyone is having a good Spring. Thanks for visiting his website.
