3 Mar 08 - Wow, it's been forever!  I can't believe things have been so crazy around here.  I figured maybe it was about time to update this thing again since I haven't been able to get our own website up and running.  I've just been so busy!  I'm working on starting the photography business I've always wanted, so that is taking up quite a bit of my off-time!  I haven't quite gotten my website up, but I do have a site on Myspace.  You should check it out if you'd like: http://myspace.com/elliedayphotography.  Anyway, we hope everyone is doing well, and hope to talk to everyone soon!  We love and miss you all!!!

Alright, so Germany is just crazy.  We are always so busy that I barely have time to keep up with everything!  I feel terrible that I have been neglecting the kids' websites, and I know everyone wants to see new pictures!  I bought our own domain, but I'm still working on getting it set up.  The url is http://dabeards.com.  There is also a link to our Flickr account on there.

Man, now that I look at it I feel even more terrible!  I've only done TWO updates in over a year.  I really hope I'll get more time to update!  For anyone that doesn't know, Kiemon is currently deployed, but we're expecting him home sometime in December.

Well, I guess I better get back to work!  We miss everyone and hope you are all doing well!  Lots of love from us!!!

Well, today my baby girl is one year old.  How time has flown.  So fast, in fact, that I had no idea it's been eight months since I updated this site last.  I guess I'll get everyone up-to-date.

We've slowly been settling into our new life and home in Germany.  It's beautiful over here, and pretty much everyone we've met is extremely nice.  We sold our house before we left the States, but we had to leave our cars behind without selling them.  We should be getting them shipped over sometime soon.  Hmmm....what else?.....

We've made some friends over here already.  We have a couple that lives across the street from us who are really nice.  They have three kids: two boys, five and six I think; and a three year old girl.  We're having a birthday party this Saturday for Brooke and Brielle.  Brooke is turning three on Saturday.

I'll finish updating this at home.  Gotta get the kids from the babysitter.

Ok, so I know I haven't updated in awhile.  I figured now was as good a time as any.  We took Brielle to get her ears pierced today.  She didn't really appreciate it, but she still did good.  We didn't want to take her to someplace like Wal-Mart or the mall or anything, because I don't trust that they've had enough practice or that they've pierced a baby before.  We took her to a tattoo/piercing parlor down the street to have it done.  And after he explained the process, I'm glad we did it that way.  Piercing shops use hollow needles so when the needle goes in, it removes the excess skin and such.  When you use a piercing gun, it just shoves the earring through, so it's more susceptable to infection.  Anyway, she looks so cute.  She has little sparkley studs.  I added some pictures, and I'll add more when I get a chance to take some pictures of her.

Just a real quick update.  We went to Arkansas to see Daddy over the weekend.  It was fun.  We get to go back at the end of the month for Daddy's tech school graduation.  Mommy added a bunch of pictures from the trip.  She will update more throughout the week, and post all the past stories that haven't been added yet!

Bri's checkup today went well.  She weighs 7lbs 6.2ozs and is 20 1/2 inches long.  So she's gained 1.6 ounces (from her birth weight-7lbs 4.6ozs) and grew 1/2 an inch!  The pediatrician said she is in the 10-25 percentile, which is new to us, because Dayrion was always in the 90-95 percentile!  She had to get one shot because we didn't get it at the hospital, so she didn't like that much.  It was so sad, because she actually screamed when the nurse poked her.  She didn't even open her eyes, but she cried so hard.  After the nurse took the needle out of her she stopped crying.  I hated it, I wanted to cry right along with her!

Nu-Nu is flying in today!  Her plane lands around 5, and then we are going to dinner at Shiki's.  It's a hibachi grill, and they have really good food!  Nu-Nu will be here until the 16th, and then Grammy Leila is getting here the 17th.  This is going to be so much fun!

I have my two-week check up tomorrow!  Mommy is really curious to find out how much I weigh, because both her and Daddy think I look about the same size.  They don't think I have grown much!  Mommy also wants to know how much I weighed when we left the hospital.  No one told us what my weight went down to before we left.  Oh well, we will see tomorrow!

Today my friend Aeris came over to play with me!  We were born only NINE DAYS apart!!!  She is my bestest buddy!  Mommy wishes that we didn't have to move apart, especially as soon as we do.  Auntie Steff and Cliff are moving in August, and we will be moving not very long after that.  Daddy is retraining, and as soon as he's done with tech school, we'll be moving to a new base.  We don't know where we are going yet, but hopefully we will find out soon.  Anyway, Aeris and I had lots of fun today.  We slept and ate and slept some more, oh, and ate some more!  Our big brothers played in the pool for a while, and then Mommy ordered pizza.  It was a really good day!  Oh, AND, I'm two weeks old today!  Mommy can't believe the time is passing so fast already!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Today Grampa Sly, Franita, TeTe Kyandra, and Kiara had to leave.  They came to visit last Thursday.  It was nice to get to meet some of my family.  I had a good time visiting with everyone.  We got to go to Choctaw to Ms. Shelba's house to eat and shoot off fireworks.  We had lots of fun except when Uncle Brandon and Daddy we're shooting mortars and Uncle Brandon slipped and knocked the canister over and the mortar went across the road and blew up in a neighbors yard.  Mommy and Daddy saw that it started a little fire in the grass and had to run and jump the fence to put it out.  Mommy was wearing shorts and scratched up the back of her leg, and cut the palm of her hand.  It was kind of scary.  Even though the fireworks were kind of loud, I didn't mind them at all.  I slept through most of them.  Anyway, I had a good time with my family, and can't wait for Nu-Nu to get here, and then Grammy Leila!

My cord fell off today!  When Mommy and I went to the hospital for Aeris' birth, Mommy asked the nurse if I was still supposed to have the clamp on my cord, and the nurse said no, so Mommy had her take it off.  It only took two days for my cord to fall off once the clamp was off.  Mommy went to change my diaper, and the cord was stuck to it!  Mommy is glad it's gone, because she worried a lot about my brace rubbing and irritating it.

26 Jun 06 - 0100   :)

Wow, my baby girl will be five days old today.  She is such a good girl.  I don't know how we managed it, but we've been blessed with another good tempered baby.  She cries when she's hungry and is overall peaceful the rest of the time.  She wasn't taking regular formula very well, she kept spitting it all up, so we switched to lactose free formula, and she is keeping it down really well.  I'm thinking she just has a little bit of a sensitive tummy.

She is doing well with her brace, but she looks so sad in it.  I wish she could kick around and have freedom to move.  I hate having to put her in it all the time.  She's only able to be out of it for diaper changes and baths.  We have an appointment with the orthopedist on the 29th, so I will ask him then how long she has to stay in it.  Hopefully not the 6-8 weeks they were saying it would take for the harness.

Anyway, I'm gonna go to bed now and try to get some sleep while Bri is sleeping.  Just wanted to give a little update.

Brielle's Birth/Brace Story

Well, as I guess you can tell, my induction went very well. (This is kinda long.)

I went in on Tuesday night (the 20th) at about 9, and after getting all checked in, I went to my room. I guess there had been some confusion, so it took awhile for my nurse to finally show up and give me the Cervadil. I got all hooked up to the monitors, and then got the Cervadil at 11:13 pm. She told me to go ahead and get some rest, and they would start the Pitocin in the morning. As most of you can probably guess, I didn't get much sleep that night. I actually had a dream about being in the hospital, it was weird. Anyway, the nurse came in in the morning, checked me (I was 2-3 and still pretty thick) and told me that she was going to start the Pitocin. She started it at 0734, and the rest went pretty fast from there. I sat around for awhile, not really feeling the contractions, until 10:05 am when my doctor checked me, I was 3-4 and soft, and broke my water. I started to feel the contractions more, and sat for awhile on the birth ball. That was really nice, it helped to be able to roll my hips during a contraction. My doctor came in and checked me again and told me I was almost a 6 and very soft. She suggested that if I wanted an epidural, I'd better get it soon, or I would miss my opportunity (she knew I had a tendancy to move pretty quickly). Anyway, the anesthesiologist came in and gave me my epidural at 11:40 am. He was so awesome. Apparently, the reason my last epidural didn't work (most likely) was because the space between the disks in my spinal column are closer than they would seem to be. It took him a couple times to get it in and centered well. Anyway, I wound up with the PERFECT epidural! It numbed all the pain, but I was still able to feel and move my toes. The anest. waited for a few minutes and asked me if I was having a contraction. I told him no, I was fine, and he told me I was in the middle of one. I looked at the monitor, and sure enough I was. I didn't feel it at all! The doctor came and checked me again, and told me I was about a 7. The nurse told me that they were going to keep a close eye on me so I didn't surprise them. I sat around with a couple friends, DH, and DS, and joked around for awhile. Then the nurse came in and told us that Brielle's heartrate was dropping with every contrax, and she kept having me change sides to see if she would tolerate it better. I finally got situated to where Bri didn't mind, and then the doctor checked me around 1:00 pm and told me I was a 9 with a little bit of cervix left. She kept checking me through my next contrax, and told me that that had dialated me completely. After everyone got set up I started pushing at about 1:10. We all placed bets on when she would be born, and after pushing through 4 or 5 contrax, she was born at 1:32 pm on 21 Jun 06 (I won the bet, I'd said 1:35). She had the cord around her neck twice, and she weighed 7 lbs 5 ozs and was 20 inches long. I only tore a little, and had to have a couple stitches.

Now about the brace. When the pediatrician was checking her, she noticed that Bri had a click in her hip. The pediatrician came in and told us that they were going to do an ultrasound. The orthopedist came the next day and took Bri for her US, and then told us that she has a problem with her hip where the socket is too big for the ball and the ball keeps slipping out, causing the click. So, in order to correct the problem, she has to wear a foam brace all the time for the next 6-8 weeks. We can take it off for diaper changes, baths, etc., but she has to sleep in it and everything.

Anyway, that's my story. We had to stay for 48 hours since I was GBS+, but we are home now. She is eating well, but has some problems keeping it down. We have to feed her a little bit at a time, and burp her often. I'm feeling ok, and am only a little sore.

WE HAVE A DATE!!!

So, we've been scheduled for our induction!!!  I really wouldn't be surprised if I went a little earlier though.  The last couple days I've been having such bad contractions.  The've evenn been enough to cause some progress.  When I got checked today, I was 1-2 centimeters dialated, and 30% effaced, which is an improvement since last time when I was only soft and maybe a fingertip dialated.  Anyway, we will go in on the 20th at around 8 pm and I'll get the Cervadil, and then on the 21st, they'll start the Pitocin.  I'm really hoping this little girl decides to come before that, so I won't have to be induced.  Well, I'm gonna lay down.  I was up kinda late last night, then got up with Dayrion at about 8 this morning, and I've been rippin' and runnin' all day.  I did finally plant flowers in our flower beds out front, and it looks cute.  Anyway, I'm pretty tired, so I'm gonna take a nap!

TODAY IS MY LAST DAY OF WORK, YEAY!!!

So, next week I'm taking leave since we don't have anyone to watch Dayrion, then we have the 19th off, and my supervisor gave me the 20th off.  If I haven't had Brielle by then, I'm getting induced on the 21st.  So I guess the next time I come to work, I'll have a daughter!!!  That's such a weird thought!  Next week I'm gonna try everything I can to start my labor "naturally".  In other words, lots of walking and *MAYBE* something like castor oil.  I tried it with Dayrion, and it didn't work.  It didn't make me throw up or anything.  I've heard a few other things you can try, but we'll just have to see how desperate I get.  Ok, well, I'm about to head out of work, so I guess I may update more tonight, or definitely this weekend sometime!

Oh, PS, I'll take a belly pic when I get home and post it, I feel really bloated all the time now, so I look bigger than normal!

WISH US GOOD LUCK ON GETTING LABOR STARTED!!!

Well, I'm still alive, so I guess that means all the "prophecies" were wrong.  The world didn't end, we didn't all die horrible deaths, and I highly doubt the anti-Christ was born!

Anyway, moving on, last night really sucked in the sleep department.  I fell asleep at about 9 or so, and woke up at 10:30.  Then, for some reason, I couldn't get back to sleep!  I was so frusterated!  I wound up just laying there for awhile watching tv with Kiemon, and eventually I just kinda forced myself to close my eyes.  Then I started having really weird dreams.  The one I can remember was bizarre.  I was on a bus with a bunch of people I went to high school with, and my old choir teacher was either at the front of the bus, or she was driving.  Anyway, I was laying on the floor, at the back of the bus, with my legs underneath one of the seats.  It was winter time, and the bus was really cold.  Well, then the driver turned on the heaters, and the heat was blowing down right on me.  Then I noticed there was a guy on the floor next to me, and it was this guy named Bobby from HS.  He sat up and was really disoriented, and I sat up with him and he started to rock back and forth like he was going to fall over.  I had to support him and started yelling at people to give me some water.  Finally someone handed me something, and it was a BEER CAN with water in it!  I gave it to Bobby and he started to drink it, but wound up dumping it on his face, so not only did he get a drink, but he soaked himself in the process.  The bus finally got to where we were going, and my teacher was trying to get a news crew to cover the story and wanted me to give an interview.  I told her I didn't want to, and that's all I can really remember.  There was a different dream I was having, but I can only remember snippets of it.  Like Steve Tyler sitting on my friends couch, and a stopped up toilet.  I swear, you have THE WEIRDEST dreams when you are pregnant!
