October is almost here. 9 months....Dayrion is almost NINE MONTHS old. Where did the time go? Once Lil Simon (Auntie Roz's baby) comes, Day will be SO CLOSE to being a year. He's coming up on his first Halloween, Thanksgiving, AND Christmas. And of course, in January, his FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! He's growing so fast, and he's so SMART!!! He's got into tempting gravity. He will stand up next to the couch, and try to turn and step. He's very good at cruising the furniture. He's so fast, too. One second he'll be standing next to you, and the next he's crawled into the other room, chasing the cat or something. He loves Auntie Michelle's cat, Little Kitty. He chases her all over the place. I don't think SHE likes HIM very much, but that's ok. She's never bit or scratched him. We're still trying to figure out what we're gonna dress Day up as for Halloween. I saw a really cute lion costume, but we'll have to see... Hope everyone reading this is in good health and spirits!!! Just remember, IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!

Dayrion went to the doctor today. He was 20 lbs 8 oz and 30 inches long. We thought he had an ear infection but it wound up just being the teething. He got presciptions for Motrin and Tylenol.

I got my first haircut last night. Mommy tried to make me stay asleep while she did it, but I wanted to be difficult and woke up. I would not stay still. She was having a heck of a time getting it even. Mommy thinks it looks cute, my hair is no longer in my eyes! Yeay!!

OOOWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEE......
I have SIX, count 'em 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 teeth growing in at once! I already have my bottom front two, but now I have the ones on each side of those plus the front four on top growing in. I haven't been very fussy, but it hurts a little if you touch my gums. I do like chewing on stuff though, it helps a little. Mommy is giving me Motrin and it's been helping, too.

I can stand on my own now and even clap sometimes. Mommy and I climbed the stairs, too. I got all the way to the top, I only had a couple stairs left, and I decided I was done. Mommy is showing me lots of stuff. I like to shake my head "no", even though I don't know what it means yet. I like making Mommy and Daddy smile and laugh. Whenever they laugh, I laugh with them. They are so funny! Mommy has been talking about taking me to
Montana
this winter to see what it's like. I will be ONE by then, Mommy thinks that's unbelievable! I will get to make snowmen and snow angels, and drink cocoa. I already have a snowsuit; Ms. Dottie gave it to me. It was her son Johnathun's. I hope I will fit in it though. At the rate I'm growing, I will need 3T clothing when I'm one!

I TOOK MY FIRST STEP TODAY!!! Mommy and I were home alone, (Daddy was at a volunteer thing), and I was standing next to the coffee table. Mommy just happened to look over at me at the right second, and saw me take a step (unsupported!!!) to the couch. She got REAL happy and gave me a big hug and kiss. It was neat.

My friend Kaden came over today. He is my babysitter Danielle's son. His mommy and daddy got free tickets to the Green Day concert, and asked my mommy and daddy if they would babysit. Mommy picked him up when she picked me up after work.

My Name
My name is very unique. I don't know anyone else with the same one. At first, Mommy and Daddy wanted to name me Jordan or Jaden, but then they decided to see what names they could come up with from theirs or my grammy's and grampy's names. Some of the names they came up with were:
Rheanne (NuNu and Grammy Leila's middle names: Renee and Ann)
DeLeila (NuNu and Grammy Leila's first names: Debbie and Leila)
LoL this one is from Mom- Maulester (Grampy Reece *Maurice* and Grampy Sylvester)
Annielle (Mom and Grammy Leila's middle names: Danielle and Ann)
Finally they figured out that if they took Daddy's middle name, Ayrion, and put the D from Mommy's middle name (remember? It's Danielle.) in front of it, it was a really nice name. Lots of people just assume that it's the same pronounciation at Darian, but they are sadly mistaken. Ayrion is pronouned: AIR-ee-on, so obviously Dayrion would be pronounced DARE-ee-on. Well, moving on, Mommy liked the name Anthony for a middle name, but Daddy wanted it to be Ali. After a few discussions they decided they were gonna call me Dayrion Anthony Ali, but for some reason, they changed their minds and cut it down to Dayrion Anthony.
So that's the story of my name. Not very exciting, but still something nice to know about ME!!!

Daddy came home from New Mexico today. I missed him. He was there doing an exercise for the military. It's called Virtual Flag. I wonder if I'll want to be in the Air Force, like Mommy and Daddy are, when I grow up.

Dayrion had his check-up today. He's 19 lb 7 oz, 29
1/4 inches tall, and has a 46 cm head. He had to get two shots, one in each of his little legs. He cried for about two seconds 'til he saw his rattle and started playing with it. The doctor had to wake him up to do the check-up, so he was tired on top of getting poked. He fell asleep in the car on the way to the babysitters, and after I dropped him off, he was out for awhile.

Mommy gave me a bath last night and all I did was splash around. I'm really starting to like baths. I still don't like laying down in the water, but when I sit up it's ok. Tomorrow is my check up. It's suppose to be my six month, but ever since we had to take our trip to Chicago, I've been behind on appointments. Then this time we were in Denver when I was suppose to see the doctor. I have to get shots, I don't like them, they always make me cry. Mommy is always there to make it all better, so I never cry for very long. I wish daddy could be there. I miss him, I hope he gets back soon. Auntie Roz is watching me today because Mommy had to work. I don't like it when Mommy doesn't get to spend time with me, but I do like when I get to hang out with Auntie Roz! Mommy will be home later...

Dayrion is doing well, he is crawling and pulling himself to a stand. He been doing those for a month and a half or so. He has his two front bottom teeth already, and his top two are starting to push through. As with any crawling baby, he is getting into EVERYTHING! He loves to chew and explore new surroundings. He can say "Da Da" AND "Ma Ma" now, (even though he doesn't know what they mean yet,) and mixes them with an array of jibber jabber. He loves eating his baby food and has gotten into drinking water. We're pretty sure that one of these days he's gonna let go of the couch and just start walking. He has also managed to become an excellent escape artist. You can strap him in a chair, on the changing table, in his swing, or various other places, and somehow he manages to get out of the straps. He has lost some of his hair on the sides of his head, and has developed somewhat of a mohawk. It's also lightened up quite a bit. It's more brown than black now.

Dayrion Anthony came into this world on January 5
th, 2005 at 1:20 in the afternoon. He was a whopping 8 lbs 10 oz and 23
1/2 inches long.
We found out we were pregnant in April 2004, a "little" to our surprise. We went in for our first baby appointment, and figured out we were due around Christmas-New Year's time. Probably the 29
th or so. Well, time went on, and my doctor thought I was measuring large for dates. Now, in the Air Force, you have to have a valid reason to get an ultrasound; and not have to pay for it, and this just happened to be exactly the reason we needed. We went in for the ultrasound at about 20 weeks or so. It was so awesome watching that screen and seeing his (well, we didn't know it was a he yet!) little legs and arms and face. It made me tear up a little bit. Anyway, we asked the technichian if we would be able to find out the sex, and she very rudely informed us that she wasn't finished with the "required" part, and would get to the sex if she had time. Well, apparently we were persistant enough, and she managed to get a clear shot, RIGHT between the legs. Dayrion pretty much said "HEAR, TAKE A LOOK!!!" So we found out our first child would be a boy. Yeay! At our next dr. appointment, he told us that from the measurements taken at the ultrasound, my due date had been moved up a week. Now it was set for December 23
rd.
So time went on, like it always does, and my twentieth birthday passed, along with Thanksgiving, and both Kiemon and my squadron's Christmas parties. Needless to say, by this time I was feeling like the Goodyear blimp, and I wanted this baby OUT NOW! Time was going slower now, and Kyandra (Kiemon's sister) came to visit for Christmas. We were planning on her being there when her nephew was born.....Didn't happen. We all enjoyed Christmas together and sent her back home, disappointed, on the 27
th. On the 29
th, we had a routine dr. visit, and decided we would make an induction appointment. After spending a few minutes on the phone, the nurse informed us that there were no openings until the following Wednesday, A WHOLE WEEK!!! So, we had a not so happy New Year, and pretty much sat around waiting. I hadn't been to work since the middle of December, and thought I was loosing my mind!!! Well, Wednesday finally came, and I was terrified. I thought of all those horror stories you hear where there are complications and the mother dies, or worse, the baby . We woke up at the butt-crack of dawn and made sure we had everything together. It was abnormally warm that morning for January, and it was raining outside. Kiemon and I stopped at a McDonald's on the way, and got him some food, (I couldn't eat anything). We got to the hospital at 6:00 in the morning and got all the paperwork filled out. They got me into the room and set up and told me they would monitor me for about an hour before they gave me the pitocin drip (the "inducer"). After an hour or so, I was doing fine, and they started the pitocin. I didn't feel anything for a long time, so I just sat there on the phone and watching t.v. until 9:30 or so, then they came in to break my water. After that, all hell broke loose. My contractions started no more that a minute after she broke my water. They came hard and fast. I couldn't even function. Kiemon had made a quick trip to Wal-Mart, well it was SUPPOSE to be quick but the little rain we had on the way to the hospital had quickly turned into an ice storm. The base was closed, no one had to work, and school was cancelled. It was bad. Anyway, Kiemon had gone to get some lock de-icer, and was gone when they broke my water. Roz had to call and tell him to get back, quick.
Well, they gave me some pain killer through my IV, and that dulled the pain a little bit, (but not enough to sleep, which I REALLY wanted to do). I started asking about an epidural, and they told me the anesthesiologist was busy with another patient. By this time I thought the contractions were ripping my insides apart because they hurt so bad, and time wasn't going fast enough. They told me it would be about 20 minutes until he would be done, and I swear from that point on I asked about him every thirty seconds. FINALLY he got there, and I was never happier to see a man with such a HUGE needle. It was SO hard to sit still while they put that tube in my spine. Apparently it was harder that I thought because all the anesthetic went down my right side. Just when they figured out that I wasn't getting numbed, it was time to push. The first contraction that signalled I needed to push was beyond painful. It took every ounce of my breath away, and I thought I was gonna hyperventilate. That was around 1:00 PM. The nurses started to scurry around like chickens with their heads cut off (at least that's what they reminded me of) and one of them called my doctor. The nurse had me start pushing, and about 5 minutes later Dr. Bryant showed up. That next 15 minutes were the most intense time of my life. Kiemon and Roz kept telling me how little his head was, though all they were seeing was his lump, and they were saying how black his hair was. It only took a few pushes, and I was done. I couldn't have been happier. Kiemon cut the cord, and the doctor announced that at 1:20 PM central time :) Dayrion Anthony was born. |
