Hi Christina-
I still check on you and something came to mind. I have a child with a cochlear implant. Is that a possibility for JD if he's totally deaf? I don't want to add more on you, but boy once his implant was in and activated he was like a new kid and starting talking within two months.
I am glad to see you are doing OK. Take care.
-Shari----Florence, Oregon

Gosh, Christina, I can't believe how big JD is now! He's huge and adorable! Jordyn is too! Amazing! Just an encouraging note that sign language really is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
Take care,

Christina,I got this from a friend and wanted to share it with you.......
There once was a bunch of tiny frogs, ..who arranged a running competition.
The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.
A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants...
The race began...
Honestly...No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.
You heard statements such as:
"Oh, WAY too difficult!!! " They will NEVER make it to the top!!!"
or: "Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!!!"
The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one...Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher...
The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!!!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave up...But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...
This one wouldn't give up!!!
At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!
THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?
It turned out...That the winner was DEAF!!!
The wisdom of this story is:
NEVER listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic... Because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you...the ones you have in your heart!!!
Always think of the power words have. Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!!!
Therefore:
ALWAYS be...POSITIVE!!!
And above all:
Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you can not fulfill your dreams!!!
Always think:
God and I can do this!!!
Don't tell GOD how Big your storm is.
Tell the storm how Big your GOD is!
-Brenda aka Berma

I am sorry I haven't posted a comment in a very long time. My husband and our family was transferred to Eugene, Oregon last month on a "moment's" notice so had to pack and whatever. Our house isn't ready yet and so we are in temporary quarters and I only have access to the internet when I can get to someone's house. I will be sending you some money to help with expenses. I wanted to do it sooner, but couldn't. JD's color does look better. Know I am here for you and read up on it all today. You are in my prayers and love to you! If you feel like talking more my e-mail address is slfunk3763@hotmail.com. I did write Jason's mom and told her I would be donating, but couldn't do it right away. You are doing a super job with your situation! My, oh my, I am trying to put myself in your shoes. Those are tough shoes to wear.
Love to you and your precious family. I will check up again as soon as I can. I won't have regular internet access until mid-November. And also, how is Jason doing? Is he back to work yet?
Take care,
Shari Funkhouser Eugene, Oregon (formerly of Bothell, Washington) -Shari
