I have had such a wonderful time with Britt and Hunter I cannot tell you. Today I have been trying to take all of the XMAS stuff down and find myself trying to be quiet or waiting to hear something. It is way too quiet! I miss Hunter so much already. To see his face light up when I came home was a special thing I cannot explain. I have never been a YaYa before. Maybe thats it! There were times that I thought I wouldn't make it what with trying to remember who I bought the presents for during the rest of the year! (I start in January and am usually finished by October.) I put everything out on the bed in the guest room and try to remember what was for who! I think I'll put names on them as I buy them this year! Yeah, right! And when Christmas Eve came I was still hanging the minimal decorations and getting stuff ready for the tamale fest in the evening...and all the time finishing a painting of the Virgin of Guadalupe for Carmen while I made three batches of creampuffs! I'm too old for all this! But I had a wonderful evening with all the local family and calls from hither and yon, coast to coast with the rest of them. The big absence in the festivities was Greg, but that is too be corrected by January 3rd when Brittany and Hunter are there at Fort Stewart to welcome him home for good! Greg...you are so lucky to have Brittany as your wife...she has done an amazing job as Hunter's mother while you were gone and all the while keeping you up to date with daily photos and stories of his growth. And Britt is so lucky to have you as a husband with your daily calls and emails to assure her that you are safe. All of us cannot thank you and your buddies enough for your great efforts in bringing the beginnings of democracy to the Middle East. You all have made a Giant Step for freedom to many people in that backward part of the world. I believe that you each have played a remarkable chapter in the annals of history. We have been enjoying them tremendously, of course. Hunter has changed even since he has been here. He is learning lots of new words and it is precious to hear him talk. He runs around like crazy and half of the time isn't even watching where is he going. He gives me 50 little heart attacks a day. We have really grown attached to him and dread the day they leave.
