Hi you two!
Pretty soon I can say "Hi, you three." At least temporarily. Well I am sure you are so excited Britt, and I am sure Hunter would be too, if he knew what was happening. It sounds like you have been pretty busy lately, so at least the time goes faster. Our trip to the mountains was great! It was nice and cool, but rained a whole lot, especially at the horse race. The recent pictures are precious. Hunter, you look like you are into and on everything. You're just learning, ha? Well, we even got some "refugees" as far as El Paso. They are staying at the convention center and supposedly have even started school there. Pretty sad situation actually. Well, I'll be talking to you, just wanted to say hi. Greg, we are anxiously awaiting your arrival in Georgia. We love you all!
Love,

Hello Little Family....hope that all of you are well and getting ready for the BIG HOMECOMING! We are okay here...started to go to Santa Fe for Labor Day but thought better of it as we didn't know what the gasoline situation would be...didn't want to get stranded anywhere. Do you have gasoline again yet, Britt? They were out of it in Fairhope for a day said Camille, but Julie says they have it but the lines are long. Tia Julie has been doing volunteer nursing in a Hurricane Shelter for women and babies...said that they were all very dehydrated. She said there were quite a few evacuees in the Fairhope center and more in a town just north of them. We are expecting 400 here at the El Paso Civic Center tomorrow. Dr. Bill has seen quite a few at the Hospital in Tupelo and that there are shelters there. Many, many in other cities throughout Texas and Baton Rouge has doubled its population as there are so many there. Fallon said that they missed the hurricane in Tuscaloosa...it was more like a severe tropical storm. Dr. Bill in on his way home today after two full weeks on duty at the ER in Tupelo. He will sleep at home tonight and then go to work at the University of Southern Alabama Medical School's hospital tomorrow in Mobile. I would imagine that he is pretty much worn out, but he's a real workaholic and you can't keep him down. All of you take care of each other and thanks for the great new photos of Hunter Paul, the budding mountain climber and cabinet raider! He must be pretty much into EVERYTHING at this point! Love as ever, Gigimi 9/3/2005

Hi Brittany, Greg & Hunter!
How exciting! Only 2 more weeks til Daddy gets home Hunter! The next two weeks will go very slowly, but it will seem that the two weeks he gets to spend at home will fly. The three of you will just have to close the door to the rest of the world and make lots of memories that will help you get through the time until he is home for good. You will have to make every minute count just being a family for the short time you have. Greg, we are all counting the minutes until you are home and wish we could see you too, but we will wait until you are home to stay, now is the time for you and Britt and of course the man of the house, Hunter!
Love and hugs and kisses to you all,
GiGiMoo

Hi guys!
Thanks everybody for the well wishes on our anniversary. It is really hard to believe it has been 30 years. All wonderful of course, ha!ha! Mostly. I hope you and Britt have the same Greg. I just can't wait till you get to the states. Fortunately your part of the south isn't completely destroyed. How awful some parts are though. It is really heartbreaking to see the devastation in New Orleans and other parts of the Gulf which are such beautiful areas with so much history. Of course you have been seeing great devastation for a while now. In just a short time you can give your eyes a rest and see some beautiful sights (your son and wife). We are sure looking forward to your homecoming and can't wait until it is the one for good. Hunter you better be practicing "Daddy" (how about YaYa)? Your pictures are adorable as usual. Britt, hope you are all ready for the wedding this weekend. Give me a call when you get a chance. Are you having a hard time finding gasoline? I can't believe the price, but where you are it may be harder for supplies to get it. How are the prices in California?
Without you coming home everything would seem kind of dreary right now, Greg. I am glad we all have that to look forward to. Take care everyone.
Love,
YaYa

Dear Britt & "Batman"! Thanks for the new photos and the latest adventure of Batman! Are you about to stamp out evil in Gotham City? Or at least in Savannah? Your Daddy's trying his best to do that in Iraq....but too many of those guys are bat and they have bat breath, too! (Oh, that was an awful joke, Gigimi!) That way from my life in 1966 and 67 writing promotional material for the Batman and Robin series on ABC television! I had lots of "bat" jokes! I'll be waiting for your next story, Britt! 8/29/05 Gigimi

What's up? No photos, no stories, no nuttin' since the 23rd! Almost a full week without a Hunter Fix! This will let you know (besides my family eamil this afternoon) that all is well in Fairhope, AL after Hurricane Katrina went roaring through. I've been in contact with Julie through Lauri and Fallon and with Camille through Fallon. No severe damage to properties...just a few loose shingles and tree limbs and LOTS OF WIND which is still blowing right now. When I talked with Fallon the eye of the storm was approaching Tuscaloosa where she is at U of A. She said she wasn't worried as nothing had happened that she hadn't seen before. I hope that all is well with all of you. Love to all on the August 29th, 2005! GiGiMi

Hi, Hunter Darlin'! How are you? I talked to Alex and Julie and Fallon and Lauri today and they all were busy and happy and everyone wnated to know how you are! And today is your 13th months birthday! Daddy really keeps track of things like that, doesn't he? Well he should be home with you on your 14th MONTH BIRTHDAy...so you all can have a big party! Auntie Lauri had a day off from nursing school today but she spent it studying. For the first time in two years she had a party at her house last night with some of her old friends. Fallon has been having her first week at University of Alabama...she starts classes this Wednesday. She been going to many parties this week and this afternoon she was asked to join a nice sorority so she will have lots of new girlfriends. She and her friend Cara (Twin) are sharing an apartment. So when you and Mommy go to Fairhope this fall to see Julie, Bill, Alex, Camille & Eddie, you can stop in Tuscaloosa and see Fallon. She would like that very much. She plans to study chemistry and then be a doctor. We need all the free doctors we can get in our big family...and nurses, too! Alex went back to school this past week and she told me to tell you and Mommy that she is playing volleyball, basketball and tennis and riding horses on the weekend. (I hope she finds time to do her lessons!) Tia Julie is really pooped! When they came back from their family trip she had to start getting all the stuff ready for Fallon's apartment and have it all hauled up to Tuscaloosa and put it all together with Fallon and Cara's help. She said they had a terrible time putting her bed together and that they had to put so many screws and bolts and nails in it that it's a good thing that it will be there for at least four years as someone will have to saw it to pieces to get it out! Maybe you can sleep with her in her new bed and test it out for strength. Today Dr. Bill went back to Tupelo to work and Julie and Alex were switching all of Alex's things to Fallon's old room with the great big closets. Then when you and Mommy visit Tia Julie you can stay in Alex's room. It is very nice and you can crawl up a whole bunch of stairs to get to it and look out the windown and see all the trees! I hope that it is still warm enough when you get there so that you can play in the pool. They are all really looking forward to your visit. Especially Camille! I think that she and Julie will have a big fight seeing who you and Mommy will stay with! THEY BOTH WANT YOU ALL THE TIME! Uncle Chris, Carmen, Nicole, Dani & Pami and Victor and I send all of you our love, and we too, are counting the days until we know that your Daddy is safely home with you. That's all the family news for now. 8/21/05 Gigimi with lots of love and hugs and kisses!

Hi Hunter (Brittany & Greg too!)
I'll bet you are getting anxious for your Daddy to get home. Just don't forget that you will have to share him with Mommy. The three of you can just enjoy being together again and have a great time being a family even if it is just for a short time. You can show your Daddy everything you've been learning, but don't wear him out. He is doing a special job protecting us and making sure your future is safe. It will be a very special time for you and Mommy while he is home and hopefully the time will go fast until he can be home for good. You are growing up sooo fast and everyday you get cuter! I don't know how that is possible, but it is true! Be nice to Ava, she looks like a special little girl and pretty soon she will be big enough for you to show her how to get into to things she shouldn't.
Lots of hugs and kisses to you, I love you guys very much. Greg, stay safe and Godspeed home, you are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, GiGiMoo

Well I think the Colonel has finally got the point he has been flying alot lately we've actually had 3 days off in a row thats a record for us, but it's nice, the days till R&R are getting closer and we are all getting anxious, it will be a much needed break from this place and from eachother you can only live with the same people for so long before everything they do gets on your nerves and I think we are all at that point
Well I hope all is well out in Cali and El paso love to everyone

BABY- IT'S GETTING CLOSER EVERYDAY I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE YOU AND HUNTER IN MY ARMS AGAIN I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH

Dearest Hunter, Britt & Greg....Sorry that I haven't written in a week or so but have been busy for a change. I see Ashlee and Brycen all the time at the Y and they always ask about you and when is Greg coming home! Brycen was one of the winners in a baby contest and is going to be in a book! Isn't that exciting? Speaking of exciting, can't you just see YaYa stepping on that snake! It must have been two minutes before her feet hit the ground again! Hunter....I'll have to tell you a funny story about Pa-Pa...your Great, great grandfather! He loved to play golf just like YaYa and PeePaw. He always played at a golf course that was very near his and Ma-Ma's house where PeePaw spent a lot of time when he was a little boy. Well, one day at this golf course in Baton Rouge, Louisiana which is pretty swampy like Savannah, Pa-Pa was out playing golf with his friends and one of them hit his ball in the rough which was a pretty wet and weedy area. The friend went poking around out in swampy area poking his golf club here and there and he went deeper and deeper into the rough. All of a sudden Pa-Pa yelled
'WATCH OUT FOR THAT ALLIGATOR!!!!!"
As you will imagine when you get a little bit older the man leaped into the air and came running out of the swampy area screaming at the top of his lungs! When he finally slowed down, Pa-Pa grinned and him and said "JUST KIDDDING!" As you or I would have probably done ourselves, the man started chasing Pa-Pa all over the golf course swinging his club at him and saying some very UGLY things!
Well, the end of the story is, as they were not so very young at the time they got worn out and went to the club house to have a beer and make friends again and that became ONE OF THEIR VERY FAVORITE GOLF STORIES FOR MANY YEARS! And now, as I am telling it to you, young man, it is still a very good story after almost 50 years, isn't it? I know that PeePaw and his brothers and sisters have heard it before but they will have fun reading it again.
I am amazed at how long your hair is! I'll bet Daddy will want to take you for a buzz cut but you look awfully swell to me just like you are. When PeePaw, Uncle Dwight and Uncle Chris were older than you, as there were so many heads to cut I had to do it myself. Boy, they will probably tell you what a rotten barber I was. They always ended up looking like soldiers like your Daddy! I cut Tia Julie's and Tia Lauri's, too. They alway had a "soup bowl" haircut with bangs and what they called a "page-boy" where their hair curled under all around their heads.
Well, this is starting to sound like a book, but someday when you are reading a bit more you might like to know what happened in your Mommy's family many years BEFORE SHE WAS BORN!
All of you take care of one another and it's now just a matter of day's until you are home again, Greg! Everyone can't wait til you step off that plane! Love to everyone, GiGiMi

Hi Brittany & Hunter!
Hunter, you are just too cute! You really have lots of toys to keep you busy. Fred the Frog is pretty cute too, but I could sure do without the rest of the "wild" life you've been seeing. I could not stand YaYa's story about the snake she stepped on!! Greg I love to see your comments, it assures me that you are still safe. I think about you and say a prayer for you every day. I know you can't wait to be home and at least for a short time you and Britt and Hunter can block the world out and just enjoy the three of you being together. Britt, I'm going to ignore the tattoo, I'm sure you noticed that I haven't asked about it!?! YaYa was right talking about the rain, the only other time I've seen it rain that hard was when we went to Hilton Head, but it was great since I didn't have to be out in it. Hi to everyone in Cali. Brittany loved being with all of you and it sure halped her pass the time and I know Hunter enjoyed all the attention and playmates he had. Thank you all for being so good to her. Britt, keep the pictures coming, my day wouldn't be complete without a Hunter fix. Remember, I love you both very much! Greg, stay safe, I love you too!
- Mammoo

HUNTER PAUL!!!!
Buddy aren't all those balls cool you can trow them at mommy and have all kinds of fun. The days are counting down buddy only a few more weeks and daddy will be home, then we can play all the time and have soo much fun throwing the balls at mommy together. I LOVE YOU BUDDY
BABY- ONLY A FEW MORE WEEKS ITS GETTING CLOSER, AND I CAN'T WAIT TO HOLD YOU AND HUNTER AGAIN. I LOVE YOU BOTH VERY MUCH
- DADDY

Hi Britt and Hunter!
I am so glad you are at the neighbors having a barbeque. How fun, just watch out for the creepy crawlers. That is the weirdest looking frog I have ever seen. I told Mamoo about me playing golf and stepping on the snake which wiggled under my foot. She said it was the worst thing she had ever heard and wondered why I didn't run all the way back to El Paso. I think my adrenalin was going so high that after 3 more holes I was too exhausted. It just happened too quickly to really react. I did throw the putter quite a ways, I also screamed for quite some time. That was just a bull snake though. Water mocassins are a different story. If it had been a rattlesnake, I am sure I would have had a heart attack. I think the thought of stepping on a scorpion bothers me more though. Anyway, from now on when I play golf, I will definitely be watching where I walk a little more carefully. You two need to watch where you walk all of the time! I really want some more pictures of Forsythe Park, so when the weather clears up get on down there. Speaking of weather, I haven't seen it rain like it did today in a very long time. For about 4 hours in a row, and very hard. It was great. Of course all traffic came to a complete stand still. We all just wanted to stop and watch it! It figures it would be on a watering day! I am sure you don't see anything great about rain anymore, but you don't live in the desert and get our water bills either. Unbelievable! Well, I love the ball pit and it seems Hunter does too. Soon you will have a very small path to walk through, but Hunter will be very happy. I love you all.
