October 21, 2009 -
Well what do you know it has been forever since I wrote a story, that sounds like a familiar opening line =).
Seeing as it is now mid october and my last story was the end of May there is a lot of catching up to do. We went on a trip out to California and had lots of fun with all of our family out there! My parents and grandfather came down to visit us for a couple weeks with there boat. We had lots of fun in the SUN. It was a hot hot hot trip, triple digits everyday and I don't mean close to 100 it was closer to or above 110 the whole time they were here. We had a nice Fourth of July out in Burnett with some family friends on the river. It was lots of fun. After that everyone headed home and we settled in for the countdown to Greg's deployment.
We celebrated the kid's birthdays a couple weekends before he left. We had a nice BBQ with new and old friends. He left July 27th, that was a long day =(. After he left the kids and I drove out to El Paso to finish off summer break. We had lots of fun and the time flew by, which was nice. But alas we had to return back home to good ole Killeen so that Hunter could start Kindergarten. I was so sad to send him to school but we really started last year so it wasn't too hard. Ava was and still is beside herself about it, she misses him terribly all day. All day long she says "Where's Bubba?" We had an incident with the school bus a couple weeks in to the school year. Hunter busted his head open on the window while riding the bus to school. The doc said stitches Hunter panicked and the doc reassessed, so we ended up with glue to put it back together, which incidentally was finally cut out of his hair on Sunday at the barbershop. After the bus ride fiasco we had a fairly unmemorable month or so until the first week of this month. Ava got sick and she got sick fast. If you will pardon my humor the pig flu in to the house and landed on Ava. She spent a total of two nights in the ER due to high fever and breathing issues. The poor thing, when she gets sick she gets SICK. After many nights with no sleep my Mom was nice enough to fly out for the weekend and help me out. I was dead tired and terrified that Hunter and I were going to get it too. She still, even now, a couple of weeks later has an ugly cough. No big excitement for her or she gets carried away with coughing fits. I had to finally buy a new camera this weekend as mine finally died. So I am very happy to get back to snapping away! We had a nice evening at the park today with some friends! There are lots of pictures that I am adding and I even added a nice fall theme to the front page. I hope everyone enjoys the site!! I truly love that we have this to keep in touch with everyone!
Greg is doing good and very much enjoying the packages everyone is sending! He is very grateful to receive them! He has been gone 12 weeks this past Monday or 3 months on the 27th, but hey, who's counting?
May-31-09 Well it seems it has been a while since I added a story. We are officially settled in our new home in Killeen Texas. We love it! We have cows out back behind our fence and the kids just can't get enough of them. When we moved here Hunter went from half day pre-k to full day pre-k. He really loves it and will be dissapointed this friday when school is out for summer. Ava is talking more and more. She misses Hunter while he is at school but thoroughly enjoys her mommy time and going to the gym with me. Greg is adjusting to his new unit and getting ready to deploy by the end of July. We are real sad that he has to go and we will miss him terribly. Our wonderful family in California got together and got us plane tickets to fly out there this Friday for two weeks and we can't wait! Hunter is beyond excited to lay drums with Uncle Brandon again! We will actually be there during warm weather for the first time in a long time and are looking forward to enjoying the pool and a nice trip to the beach. We are also going to be there for the big Family picninc too! Greg hasn't been to one in nine years so he is thrilled! Last weekend YaYa and GiGi came for a visit and we had lots fo fun! The kids went nuts being spoiled and getting to play with them again. I added pictures from there stay and finally finished adding pictures from sea world. I promise to get better with the pictures again!
Dec-2-08 Well her surgery was succesful. They took her back at about 7:30 this morning and she was all done at 7:45. It took about an hour to calm her down afterwards and we are now resting comfortably at home. Since Ava is sleeping so nicely I am off to get a little nap myself. There is nothing fun about 4:30 in the morning. We are both exhausted!
Dec-1-08
Well things have been super busy since the last story as usual. We never did get any answers as to why exactly Ava got so sick. Thankfully we have not had any more insane fevers around here since and hopefully we never will again!
We moved at the beginning of November to a new house. We love it! It is smaller than the last one but it feels more like home than that one did. We have a backyard here that the kids can actually enjoy and boy do they! Anyone who needs the address please send me an email and I will get it to you. As soon as I get a chance I plan on taking some photos and putting them up here so everyone can see the new place.
We had planned on going out to California for Thanksgiving this year but of course the Army interceded and plans were changed. We were so dissapointed! We have however made plans to go to California on the 27th of December (Really we will be there...leave was approved) and stay for about a week. I know all of our California family is shaking there heads saying they will believe it when they see it.
Hunter is loving school. He is learning so much and he just has a great time doing all of the crafts and making new friends. It is hard to believe he is already in school. He is in Pre K now and only goes half a day but it is a great program. We had parent teacher conferences a few weeks ago and it blew my mind when hos teacher told me that shy little Hunter has a talking problem. It seems he would rather yap it up with his buddies than finish his work. He seems to be doing better now though. He is growing so much and he is such a great brother. He is crazy about Ava and she is crazy about her Bubba.
Ava has grown and changed so much since the last story too. The only thing that hasn't changed is that the poor little girl is sick with some sort of thing or another all the time. After ear infection number ten (just since January, there were more prior to that) the Dr's have decided that tubes are the way to go. She goes in for her surgery tomorrow morning. It is a fairly routine surgery and will be over in a matter of minutes. I just hope this will at least end her ear infection streak. The Dr also said that her hearing and talking should improve greatly within about six weeks. She says a lot of sounds. Some even sound like words but she really isn't talking just yet. She can scream with the best of them though. I will try and get on here
July-22-08 HER FEVER FINALLY BROKE!!!! YAY!!!! Her fever finally broke this morning. I am so relieved and happy! She has a Dr appt tomorrow morning as does Hunter so hopefully we may know a little more. She has a rash on her back, shoulders face and a little bit on her tummy so I am strongly thinking Roseolla is the culprit. She was to have shots tomorrow but those will have to be postponed until at least next week. Unfortunately Hunter isn't so lucky and he will have to have his tomorrow so that we can get him registered for school next month. It has been such a crazy last few days and I want to thank all of you again for your thoughts and prayers. July-21-08 Well we came home from the hospital this afternoon after a very long weekend. We are still none the wiser as to why Ava had such a bad fever. Her fever has still not broken and we are on day four now. She is hovering between 100 and 101 now. It is amazing at how that used to seem so high. Now I am just thankful it hasn't gotten back up to 106. The most reasonable explanation for her fever so far has been Roseolla (not sure on the spelling of that one). We won't know for sure though until her fever finally breaks. Which will hopefully be tomorrow. Ava is so exhausted still and has happily gone to her own bed. I am following soon. I just wanted to jump on here and let everyone know the latest news. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. I will keep everyone updated as she has an appointment with her Dr on Wed morning. July-20-08 Well as a lot of you know little miss Ava is in the hospital right now. I had Greg bring his computer so that I could just do mass updates. Thank you to everyone who has sent there thoughts and prayers. On Friday morning Ava woke up with a fever. It was about 102. She had just broken a molar so I didn't think much of it. Her fever persisted throughout the day though and I had not been able to get her and appt at the Dr. I called the tel-a-nurse and they requested I take Ava to the ER. When we checked in her fever was about 103.7. They gave her a tylenol suppository and a shot of antibiotics. They took blood and urine for tests and basically decided they were very suspicious of a urinary tract infection. They released us around midnight to go home. Ava's fever was 101.8 when they let us go. When we woke up the next morning she still had a fever it was around 102 I was watching it to make sure it didn't spike up again. They told me the previous evening to return right away if I thought she was getting worse. I gave her tylenol and watched her closely. About an hour later I checked her temp and it was 104 so back to the ER we went. When they brought us back her temp was 105.8. They immediately gave her another suppository and had me wrap her in a wet towel and told me they would be admitting her. So here we are a little more than a day after we were admitted and we don't know anymore than we did when we got here. They did a spinal tap and ran more cultures and tests and also took an xray. Her spinal tap was negative for meningitis. Her xray showed no pneumonia and we are still awaiting more tests and cultures. We have gone from one end of the spectrum to the other with guesses. The latest thing they are trying to rule out is Roseola. She continues to have her fever spike. Every few hours she has a temp of 104 or higher. We have had to do a sponge bath. There is some concern with maintaining a high fever for so long as it could lead to febrile seizures. Well all of this leads me to the fact that we still have no answers. We will let everyone know as soon as we do. Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers. May-15-08 These stories get fewer and farther between everytime it seems. Things have certainly been busy around here. Ava came out of my belly running and the rest of us are trying very hard to catch up. Easter was lots of fun. Hunter had a blast dying all of the eggs and even more fun finding them. We still have recurring egg hunts throughout the house with all of the plastic eggs. Ava had a lot of fun too and even learned to crawl on Easter Sunday. She has been going ever since. We have had quite a few bouts with pink eye over the last few months and a few colds in between. Ava got Bronchialitis and had to use a nebulizer for a while there too. She hated it and it broke our hearts to make her do it. It seems like we have all been taking turns being sick over these last few months. Ava was the latest with the worst diaper rash ever. We have switched to cloth diapering part time and it seesm to be working wonders for her poor little bottom. It is rather difficult to get a cloth diaper on a wiggly little baby though. Kudos to everyone who didn't have a choice between disposable and cloth. Hunter started AWANAS last september and his awards cermony for the year was last night. It turned out to be quite a bummer because they didn't quite give all of the Cubbies the respect they deserved. They ushered them in and out very quickly and didn't even give them there awards during the ceremony. I feel so bad because they worked so very hard memorizing all of there verses. He will start back in september. He has been doing Gymnastics for the last few months as well and he just loves it. He is just a little monkey! He is wonderful at forward rolls and does handstands very well. He is also in swim lessons and so very close to being able to swim by himself. He just loves it and turns every bath in to practice time much to my distress (do you have any idea how much water a 3 year old can splash out of a bath while practicing his kicks?). As if he wasn't overscheduled already we fill a lot of time with play dates at the park and story time at the Library where he gets to pick out new books to read before he goes to bed. Ava is growing so fast! She is crawling like a pro, pulling up on anything she can get her hands on and even standing independently for a few seconds. She has 6 very sharp teeth (picture teeth marks on Mommy's hands, Owch!). Teething has been a very tough thing for her. Every tooth that comes through brings sleepless and tear filled nights. She just loves her brother so much and chases him around and loves to play cars and monster trucks with him. She is a little diva. If she wants something she gets it. If you tell her no she yells and hits you. Usually she hits Greg. They have lots of "arguments" and it is funny to watch. She loves to eat everything and has turned in to a little vacuum cleaner. In fact we found a surprise in her diaper about a week ago, an airplane wheel. We have had to become extra diligent with Hunter's toys and any other little objects. As you can see it has been a very busy few months. I have tried to keep up with adding pictures but I hardly have the time to take pictures any more. We love to read all of the entries in the guest book and all the comments on the pictures. It means the world to us that everyone takes the time to check in with us. Feb-25-08 I know I seem to start off every story with it has ben a blur since the last one but I really mean it. It is amazing to me that Ava is 7 months old now. It seemed like I was pregnant forever and now Ava's first Birthday is just around the corner. It has been a whirlwind since she was born. Hunter is finally potty trained! Woo Hoo! All of a sudden one day I asked if he would wear underpants and he said yes and he has been good ever since. He still wears a diaper at night but he seems to be less wet every morning so hopefully the diapers at night will be over soon too. He is still just the perfect big brother and immediately wants to play with ava in the mornings. They are great little buddies. He is so sweet to her and I think he really loves to be a big brother. Ava has grown and changed so much. She has such a personality now. If only I could put her down more often. She is a bit of a MaMa's girl. Hopefully she will get over it soon and become a little Daddy's girl. I know Greg would love that! Ava has been sitting up like a pro now for a while and is gearing up to crawl. She gets up on all fours and rocks. She got closer last night then I have seen before. She also got her first tooth yesterday. Which explains alot of night time crankiness the last few nights. Ava absolutely loves to play with Hunter. Every morning when we get up she goes straight to the exersaucer and her and Hunter play and talk to each other for about an hour. This is when I get a chance to do marathon cleaning sessions. She is just crazy about her big brother. He makes her laugh more than anybody else. They are just so cute together I love to sneak peeks at them while they are playing. If they know I am watching they aren't as silly. Well I have changed up the website a lot and added a ton of pictures so enjoy! Jan-05-08 This last month has been a blur! Hunter is still loving his baby sister and is so happy that she interacts with him now. He counted down the days to Santa Claus and had a great Christmas! This was our best Christmas with him yet. He finally understood about Santa Claus coming to the house so it made it really neat. It was Ava's first Christmas and she did pretty good for a baby that has no idea what is going on. We had a bit of a landmark Christmas here in El Paso though. We got up bright and early to open the gifts and have breakfast before we headed out to my parents house, little did we know there was no way to plan for what would happen. Hunter had his first trip to the Emergency room! He was playing his bowling game in our hallway and somehow slipped and cut his head open on the knob to the linen closet. I must praise myself for my levelheadedness.......not! Thank God Greg was home or we might not have survived. Cuts on the head bleed....they bleed alot! After wiping away the blood it was evident the cut was deep this is were all of Greg's levelheadedness kicks in. I wanted to throw up when I saw the cut on Hunter's head. I ran to the phone to call my Mom and tell her we might be a little late to the party because we had to make a slight detour to the emrgency room. I repeatedly told her not to panic, I only say this becaue I was made fun of for it later in the day. I kept saying not to panic because I was panicking! My poor baby was gushing blood and I had no idea what to do. Ava was asleep so I took Hunter to the hospital and Greg stayed with Ava. I only had one good idea in all of this. I managed to think straight enought to put lots of papertowels on his head and then throw a beanie hat on afterwards to keep it in place! Yay! I'm smart! HaHa! I should have had Greg go to the hospital with Hunter. Hunter was quite a trooper through all of this and really didn't complain to much except the blood scared him a little bit. The ER was pretty empty and we got in pretty quick so that was one plus. They put some numbing gel on his head and here is where things got hairy....for me atleast. They had to give him two shots in the head. He didn't like the first one at all but felt nothing after it. Right about this point I'm seeing spots breaking in to a sweat and white as a sheet. They asked if I needed to leave the room I said no that I was fine. Then they started the stitches. I almost passed out and was sent out in the hall to recuperate. Hunter got threes stitches and thoroughloy enjoyed all of the extra pampering. Thank goodness my Grandmother (Hunter's GiGi) was there to stay with him. He had his stitches out on New Year's Eve he was so good and only jumped a little with the first one. I did very well, no passing out that time! So much for finishing nursing school....... Ava is growing so fast. It is hard to believe that she will be six months old this month. She is sooooo big! She is rolling over both ways like a pro and can sit for a few seconds by herself. She is grabbing with both hands for things and then shoving them in her mouth. If she can get her hands on it in the mouth it goes. She loves food and has tried almost all of the fruits and veggies now. Her favorite fruit is Pears and her favorite Veggie is Carrots! I am pretty sure teething has reared its ugly head in our house though because she has the red cheeks and wants to bite on everything. She has almost taken Greg's finger off a time or two. She loves the biter biscuits and is really good about eating them all by herself. She has the highest pitched squeal I have ever heard and an even higher pitched scream when she is mad. She laughs so sweetly and thinks Hunter hung the moon! I will say that I had it very easy with Hunter but Ava is a whole new world. She is not a bad baby persay.....she just likes things her way. We are so happy for Crystal (Greg's Sister), we can't until June for her new baby! I bet Dylan wil be a great big brother! We are also very excited for Greg's Cousin Robert and his wife Andrea. They just had a brand new baby boy named Jonathan on New Year's Eve! What a way to start the new year! We are looking forward to our trip to Cali next month. It will be so nice to see everybody! Happy New Year!!!!!
Dec-5-07 Well it has been a little crazy around here since the last story! We are adjusting to having a new little one in the house and it has been fun. Hunter is just crazy about Ava and wants her to do everything with him. He loves to watch cartoons with her in the morning. Greg went away to Georgia for a couple of months for work and we are so happy that he is finally back home again. Ava is growing so fast already it is hard to believe that she is already four months old. She is much bigger at this age than Hunter was and she is so different. I know all babies are different but it still amazes me how different they are. Ava is now a whopping 15 lbs 4 oz and 24 1/2 in. She is crazy about food too. She is eating all of the fruits except for peaches which are a little tart so we are working on those. She loves to have them mixed in with cereal. We are still breastfeeding but I am finally able to give her one bottle a day of breastmilk. So it is nice that she can be left with someone if we needed to. She is smiling, laughing, rolling over and trying as hard as she can to sit up on her own. She is also playing now and reaching out for stuff. She just loves to pay under her kick and play! She is getting used to her Daddy being home again and is getting better about hanging out with him while I get stuff done around the house. She still absolutely hates her carseat though and it can be a bit loud running errands. She lets more people hold her now though as long as I am not nearby. She is a bit of a Mommie's girl. She is just crazy about Hunter. If she is upset he just has to talk to her or sing to her and she will be smiling in seconds. It works the other way too though. When big brother cries so does she. She gets very sad for him. It is too cute! Hunter is changing and growing up in to a wonderful little boy. He has the best manners and he speaks so well. He is crazy about pretend play and loves to pretend he is Batman. He is going to AWANA's which he loves. It is a non-denominational bible study for children. He has lots of fun and has to memorize bible verses every week. He gets patches for his vest that he wears and treats too. He calls it going to school and just loves it! He is slowly getting the idea of potty training and I think that we will finally be out of diapers before we know it. He has used his potty quite a few times and seems to like the idea of being a big boy. We are finally done with sippy cups during the day and he only uses them for milk now. He loves being a big brother and is eagerly awaiting for her to be big enough to play with him. He just hasn't figured out that once she is big enough to play with him she will be big enough to take his toys. I won't tell him if you don't! We are all very excited for our First Christmas in the new house. It is going to be Ava's first Christmas and Hunter's first Christmas that he understands abotu Santa Claus. It is going to be so much fun! There will definitely be lots of photos! Aug-3-07 Wow! It has been a very busy last few weeks. Hunter turned three and then we had a little baby girl. Hunter's party was lots of fun. We got him a bounce house. He loved it. It is still in our backyard. But it has been raining so he hasn't been able to play with it since we got home from the hospital. He got lots of neat stuff and was very happy to have his friends there to jump with him. We found a really neat Lighteneing McQueen pinata but the idea of hitting the "cool" car was lost on Hunter. We ended up just pulling the candy out of the bottom. Maybe next year though. He had been talking about his birthday for months so it was really neat to wake him up and tell him it was his birthday. However he still has no concept of time and he asked all day when we were going to his party. It was so much fun though. This was the first birthday that he really knew what was going on and it made it so much fun! Well we have really filled up July with Birthdays in our house alone the end of July is going to break us. My birthday is July 17th, Hunter's birthday is July 21st and lo and behold Little Miss Ava came early and was born July 23rd. I had a Dr appointment on the morning of the 23rd where the Dr decided it was a good idea to go ahead and take her out. I had been going for NST monitoring for a while because of low fetal movement and to monitor her heart accelerations. He wasn't thrilled that there hadn't been much of a change and very casually asked if we were ready to have a baby that afternoon. My jaw dropped and I think I stuttered all the way out the door. We went home and got all of our stuff together. I had to wait in the triage area for what felt like days and unfortunately since there were other women in there Greg could not wait with me. So I was left to get extremely nervous about my c-section. It all turned out fine and greg was in the room with me during the procedure. It was wonderful to hear her crying when she came out. She is already a more feisty baby than Hunter was but she is just beautiful and I can't imagine what it was like before we had two. She was born at 5:30 p.m. July 23rd. She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and was 18.5 in long. The funniest thing about that is Hunter was the exact same measurements and was born at 4:34 p.m. They almost had the exact same birth stats. I am slowly getting back to normal from the c-section I just can't stand for too long but I am sure I will be back to normal before I know it. Everyone has ben a great help. It has been wonderful to have Greg home on leave and I am a little scared of taking care of both of them by myself when he goes back to work but that is still a little over a week away. Hunter is slowly getting used to having Ava home. I think he has finally figured out that she isn't going anywhere. He finally held her for the first time the night before last and he asked to hold her again last night. He tries to give her his toys and I even caught him singing Twinkle Twinkle to her the other day. I have finally caught up on all of the pictures and now all I have left to do is to change the site. I think I have added about 175 pictures in the last week. Thank you to everyone for all of the congratulations and well wishes! July-19-07 Hunter had his 3 year check up yesterday! He weighs 34.6 lbs and is 38 in tall. He is in the 75% for both so he is growing right on track. I finally caught up on some pictures so hopefully we won't be to behind when Ava comes. I finished doing her room as well and now I just wander in there wondering if I have forgotten anything. We have been lucky enough to get a ton of hand me downs from friends and family so it is nice to not have to buy so much stuff. Hunter's Birthdya party is this saturday. He is so excited. Everyday he asks if his Birthday is coming yet. I can't wait to finally tell him it is here! Well I am off to do some cleaning hope you all enjoy the pics. Sorry it took so long to put them up! July-02-07 Well it has definitely been a while since the last story. Things have been very good out here in El Paso. Greg is adjusting to his new job, Hunter is loving all of the extra space we have in the house and so am I. Little baby Ava is growing right on schedule and will be here in 27 days. Hunter is growing and changing so much it is hard to believe that he will be turning three this month. I can still remember bringing him home from the hospital. He was so tiny. He is talking so well and so much. He asks questions about everything and can definitely hold up his side of the conversation. He is excited and a little worried I think about Ava coming. He helps me with her room all the time and has begun to ask when she will get here. He is absolutely obsessed with his Birthday and asks about it every day with out fail. He wants to have a "jumping thing" (jumping balloon) at his party and goes nuts every time he sees one. He talks about his cake and presents the most though. He loves having a toy room and has gotten very good at taking every single toy out before the day is over. Putting them back where they go is a whole other thing though. He loves playing golf just about every weekend as does Daddy these days. We have been going to swim lessons for a couple of months now and he has gotten very good in the water. He kicks very good and blows bubbles. He can even climb out of the pool by himself. He will be ready for the group "without MaMa" swim lessons next summer. Ava is growing right on schedule. I had a Dr appointment last week and we scheduled the c-section for July 30th so there will be another July Birthday. I can't believe there are only 27 days left until we get to meet her. It is finally starting to set in and it is getting a little scary. A friend of mine threw me a wonderful baby shower this weekend. It was lots of fun and Hunter enjoyed opening the presents for me. Well I think that is all of the news for now. I will really try and get better at updating the site agian. It is just harder and harder to sit at the computer these days. We need a great big comfy chair.
April-23-07
Well Hunter got a haircut today! It is so short. I almost didn't do it but he said he wanted short hair like Daddy's so we did it. It is spikey and so cute. He looks so much older and I already miss his curls! He keeps putting his hand on his head and saying his hair is up. It is so funny! I had a Dr appointment today and all is well with the baby. I think we have finally decided on a name....Ava Elizabeth. What do you all think? I wouldn't go over to the Elizabeth Nicole name and Greg won't come over to Savannah Elizabeth and we finally agree that we bothe Like Ava. I added a bunch of pictures of our new house. We are just about done getting it all put together but there are still a few rooms that need some work.
April-04-07 It has been a while since I added a story and there have been lots of changes. We have officially moved in to our new house in El Paso. Still have some decorating and organizing to do but it feels like home already. Hunter loves his new Lightening McQueen race car bedroom. I am slowly getting his room done. The biggest project being that I need to checker flag paint his dresser and bookshelf. He has a super cool (that is how he says it) race car bed that we are still working on getting him to sleep in. He prefers his little fold out cars couch. Crazy kid! We went to California for a week and had lots and lots fo fun. We do feel very bad for bringing the outbreak monkey with us. That stomach bug was no fun....hope everyone has finally recuperated! It was so nice to see everybody and we are so glad that we were able to be there for Cole's baptism. While we were there Lynette was nice enough to sneak us in to the hospital for a peek at the sex of the baby and we are thrilled that it is a GIRL! Needless to say the race has already begun to buy every cute pink and purple thing I can get my hands on! Much to Greg's chagrin. We had our official ultrasound on Monday morning and they concluded that we are indeed having a girl who at this point and she is a healthy 1lb 2 oz. The three names that are being discussed at this point are Elizabeth Nicole (Greg's favorite), Savannah Elizabeth (My favorite), and last but not least Ava Elizabeth (I have a feeling this will be the name). Feel free to vote in the guest book we need all the feedback we can get. We still have plenty of time to decide though. Some updates on Hunter....He is talking soooo much these days, full sentences and all. He is very curious about everything and asks "What that means?" all the time. He is enjoying havimg his own play room and it takes no time at all for him to turn it into a diaster area. He is still very afraid of his potty but I am hoping that her epretty soon we can get past that and work on the potty training. I would really prefer not to have two children in diapers. He isn't to sure if he wants a baby sister or not. He seems to generaly not be interested in the baby at all but he knows the nursery is for the baby and that his old crib is the baby's bed. I hope he adjusts well to being a big brother. Well I have started to add pictures from our trip to California but I still have a bunch more to add. Jan-09-07 Wow! I have been very bad at the stories lately. Hunter is a busy little kiddo these days he had a great Christmas and got way too much stuff. We are definitely going to have to move to a bigger place with all of this stuff. He no longer thinks the baby is in his belly and has finally decided it is just in my belly. He gives it hugs tells me it is sleeping and then shakes my belly to try and wake it up. Hopefully he lets the baby sleep when all this is over but we will see. He knows a million words all of his colors (the basic ones) all his shapes and is now working on learning his alphabet. He has lots of fun learning new stuff and it is fun to teach him. He can be a little stubborn sometimes but hey he is two... He is getting over a cold now as are Greg and I. Yuck! I was having lots of pain on my left side so I went to the Dr and found out that I had a ruptured cyst and the pain should subside soon. But I did get to have an ultrasound today and I finally got to see the little bean. The baby's heartbeat is good and is growing right on schedule. Due August 5th. While they where doing the ultrasound the baby turned and looked right at us. Very cute. Lots of fun and makes it all the more real...Until next time Nov-07-06 This might be the longest I have ever gone without writing a story. So much has happened since I last wrote. Greg went to the field and Hunter and I went to El Paso. While Greg was in the field he re enlisted in the Army for four more years. We are supposed to report to Ft Bliss on Feb 10th. We are looking forward to getting closer to all of our family. Being on the opposite side of the country makes it hard and expensive to travel very often. While we were in El Paso I made the mistake of letting Hunter sleep with me. We are still trying to fix that situation. He doesn't sleep with us anymore but he doesn't sleep in his crib anymore either. He is now sleeping on the Daybed in his room. He usually wakes up between 3 and 5 just about every morning and wants to come downstairs. The craziest thing is he doesn't want to play, he wants to sleep on his Cars couch that has a sleeping bag. he goes back and forth about showing interest in potty training. I am not in any hurry. I would rather fix the sleeping arrangements before we tackle potty training. He talks in sentences all the time now and his favorite thing to do is to go outside and play. He goes stir crazy inside. Halloween was last week and he had a blast. He didn't say Trick or Treat at the first few houses but he finally got the hang of it and even started to roar like a dinosaur by the end (he was a T-Rex). He got in to his candy before we were done though and insisted on Chocolate between houses. The day after Halloween we went to a fair and Hunter won a Goldfish which he has very creatively named "Fishy". He loves his fish and wants it to play trucks and go Night Night with him. We went to the park a few times this weekend and Jacob came over yesterday to play. We had a busy weekend. Well I will try and keep up a little better with the stories and the updates on all of our moving plans. Sept-15-06 Wow! It has been a real long time since I have writtena story. We got to El Paso yesterday afternoon. Greg took us to the airport yesterday morning and then went back to work so that he could go to the field. He is going to have a very busy crazy next few weeks. Hunter had a wonderful time at the airports and on the airplanes. He loves airplanes so much every terminal we were in we had to walk up and down trying to find a window that he could see an airplane from. We found a cute little die cast plane in one of the airport gift shops and it has quickly become one of his favorite toys. Our first flight was a little long and he got a little stir crazy on it from boredom. He is two and as such does not like to sit still for two hours. Poor little guy! The second flight I convinced him to fall asleep so he finally got a much needed nap and slept from Houston all the way to El Paso. He was very upset that we had to leave the airplane though. He quickly forgot about the airplanes when he saw his YaYa and PaPa! He had big smiles ready for them. I expected him to be a little shy but boy oh boy was he not shy! We went to YaYa and PaPa's house and had some fun playing and waited for GiGi and MiMi and Victor to come over and say hello. Hunter had lots of fun playing with everybody and was just talking up a storm. We had yummy spaghetti for dinner which he threw just about everywhere he could so he needed a bath. After his bath he decided to tell everyone to go home because he was going to bed and I guess he was afraid that everyone was going to have fun with out him and he just didn't like that idea. All in all it was a long but fun day and Hunter is happy to be back where he is spoiled rotten. I haven't taken any pictures yet but you all know me and there will be plenty of pictures to add later I am sure. Well I will write again soon. Aug-02-06 Greg was promoted to Sgt yesterday WooHoo! I am so proud of him! Hunter and I went to watch and actually I was supposed to pin his new rank on him but somehow it didn't work out that way. Hunter got a little restless but he discovered really quickly that there were tons of "big" trucks everywhere! He just couldn't figure out why we couldn't go stand next to Daddy, he kept trying to push me up there. Try explaining formation to a two year old! El Paso seems to be about to wash away these last few days they got over 7 in of rain in less than two days. Anybody whop lives or who has been there knows that is too much for El Paso to sustain. Roads were washed away and there were boulders everywhere. I have seen some pictures and it is really scary to see places I know underwater. Atleast they were able to declare a state of emergency so that they will be able to get some help with all of the repairs that are going to be needed. Buildings collapsed and everything. Well Hunter is bouncing off the walls and watching Blue's Clues right now and it looks as though I need to begin refereeing! Well I will add more soon!
