June-9-05 Well it has been quite a while since the last story. Today is Lukas's first birthday! I can't believe how fast the time has gone, it is only 6 weeks until Hunters first birthday. Things are very good out here in California. I can't believe we are leaving for Texas on Sunday. I feel like we just got to California. I went and got all of Hunter's party favors for his birthday next month the other day. I figured it would be easier to do it now than when we came back out here. That way I won't have to rush to find it all. Besides, that leaves more money for last minute Birthday presents. Hunter is all over the place now. I have had to make a make shift gate to separate the den from the rest of the house and you can tell from the newest pictures that it isn't working out to well. He just wants to go everywhere and I can hardly keep up with him. He is absolutely in love with playing patty cake now. He gets soooo excited to do it. It really cracks me up. Temper tantrums have started to rear there ugly faces lately too. He pretty much understands no, it is just a matter of applying this knowledge when told no. He is my precious little angel though, crying fits and all. We had tons of fun at the wedding this weekend. It was a very beautiful wedding. Hunter behaved himself very well and even sat quietly through the whole ceremony (except for the few minutes when I was tearing through my bag looking for his binky of course). Hunter has been trying all kinds of new foods lately and has definitely developed a taste for vanilla ice cream. But then again who doesn't like ice cream? He even tried chocolate cake last night. I am going to ruin vegetables for him at this rate I'm sure, but it's fun to spoil him with the good stuff. He is still crawling like crazy and moves at a hundred miles per hour. He pulls himself up on everything and has finally learned how to get down off of things. He just rolls himself over on to his tummy and slides backwards. That is excepting of course the giant tupperware box that is being used as a gate. He tumbled off of that twice yesterday in a vain attempt to escape the prison of the den. He is talking all of the time. Talking as only he can understand though. It is mostly gibber gabber with a few real sounding words thrown in for emphasis. He says MaMa and DaDa and I am pretty sure he says Brandon now. Brandon sounds more like Undon than anything though. It is very funny. Sometimes I even think he says MaMa with some built in attitude, only a peek of things to come I am sure. He doesn't really say any of the names to people though it is more like a spattering of them spread out in his many conversations he has with anyone who will listen. Sometimes I think he says MaMa to me but that is mainly wishful thinking I am sure. He does seem to say Undon an awful lot around Brandon though so maybe he knows exactly what he is talking about after all. Well I just finished adding the other ten pictures from yesterday. I will add more soon. June-2-05 Well Hunter and I have been homebodies the last couple of days. He has been testing his limits with standing by himself the last couple of days. He will let go of whatever he is holding on to and then he will grab on to it again like he couldn't figure out what happened. He is so silly sometimes. It seems that everytime he lets go it is for longer periods of time so I guess it is only a matter of weeks now before he is trying to walk all by himself (Sorry Daddy). I have also discovered that Hunter knows exactly what no means, however he seems to think it is just a really funny game. He will stop doing whatever he is doing and look at me and then smile and then try to do it really slowly like I won't notice. He is just a silly boy I guess. Well I guess just about everyone has heard that Greg won't be coming in July. I guess they aremoving to a new city over there so he won't be able to be here for Hunters First Birthday. But he should definitely go on leave for two weeks in September. Hopefully I can get Hunter's Birthday on tape so that he doesn't have to completely miss it. Well I added eleven new pictures to the site I hope you all enjoy. I will add more soon. May-31-05 I finally renovated Hunter's site. There is a new link at the very top of the page that will take you to a page of videos. I just love this new additon. My Brother-in-Law Rod made it for us. I just love it! It is perfect for Greg so that he can see Hunter moving around too instead of just pictures. So a very special thanks to Rod for doing this for us. I also moved some stuff around on the home page. There is a new letter to Daddy from Hunter on the home page as well. Well now that the technical stuff is out of the way. Hunter and I had a fun weekend here by ourselves. However we were both happy to have everyone back and return to the hustle and bustle. Tommorrow Hunter an I are going to go shopping with Grandma while the kitchen gets painted a beautiful yellow. Sorry no new pictures tonight we had a pretty busy day. Well I will add new pictures soon! May-28-05 Well Hunter and I have had lots of fun the last two days. Yesterday Clint, Tiffany and Lukas came over to go swimming and to have dinner. It was a lot of fun and the boys had a blast in the pool. Hunter went to bed kind of late agin last night ao that we could have some extra play time together. It was a lot of fun. He just crawls all over the place and if he thinks I'm not coming fast enough then he stops and sits and waits. He is too funny but I am glad to see he is patient with his Mommy. We slept in a little lat4er than usual today since he went to bed so late last night. It was nice to sleep in. Today we played for a little while when he woke up and then I made him take an early nap so that he would be really rested for Judy's surprise party. The party was lots of fun and Hunter was a perfect angel sitting in the high chair as usual. Lynette gave him a nice pretty blue balloon and he had a blast with it. All he wanted to do was get it. He would get it pulled down to his face and then he would let go of the string and off the balloon would go. He was pretty well tempered about it and just kept trying to get it over and over again. It was hilarious to watch. He was very worn out after the long day so we didn't get much playtime in this evening before he was ready to go off to dream land. So he had en early bedtime tonight. He is changing soo much sooo fast. I can't believe he is going to be a year old in less than two months! I still remember bringing him home from the hospital. Well I added five new pictures to the site I will add more soon. May-26-05 The house is awfully empty this evening. Greg, Jen, Brandon and Haylee all left for Cambria for the weekend. Hunter an I have had a lot of fun all night though I even let him stay up past his bed time because we were having so much fun. We have been playing since they left this afternoon except for a short little nap he took. It was nice to have some Mother Son bonding. He did however go looking for everybody a couple of times. He was crawling down the hall yelling. Waiting for someone to respond I suppose. He is so silly sometimes. I was talking to my Mom tonight and I got him to say YaYa. She was so excited. I even got him to say DaDa a couple of times. But unfortunately I said MaMa a million times to no avail. Eventually I will here it all the time. So I guess I can wait. Well I only got one picture added tonight because my battery died in my camera so one will have to do it atleast until tomorrow. I will add more soon. May-22-05 Hunter went swimming again yesterday and today. He just loves the water. He gets sooo excited when he is in the pool. He just splashes around and goes nuts. We have been having so much fun out here in California. It is really starting to get hot here. It is so much fun to have a pool in the backyard. It is a great chance to get Hunter used to the water and maybe teach him how to swim atleast as much as you can teach a baby at his age. Hunter had a bit of an accident thi morning in the play pen. He has apparently discovered how to take off his own diaper. It definitely wasn't the kind of diaper I wanted him to get off. It was a very messy situation and he went straight to the bathtub. That is why he now has big boy underwear. He sleeps a lot better when he just sleeps in his diaper because he gets too hot in his clothes. So I went to Target and found the smallest underwear I could to put on him over his diaper. Hopefully he won't be able to get his diaper off with the underwear on over them. The underwear are just too cute, I found some Finding Nemo ones and some Spiderman ones. He looks like such a little boy with them on. Well I added twenty-two new pictures to the site and I will add more soon. May-18-05 Well as you all saw the boys had there pictures taken together last night. It was so much fun. They all had matching shirts and it was just too cute. Hunter wasn't quite sure what was going on so he minded his own business and played with all of the props the lady gave them. Lukas wasn't too thrilled about the whole thing but it was a little past his bed time and he ended up in a better mood and started to play with the bucket they gave him. All in all the pictures took a while but they came out great. Since Hunter was doing so well I decided to go ahead and get his picture taken by himself. It came out really cut too. The background looks so realistic in the pictures I can just picture them all playing on the beach. Hopefuly pretty soon there will be a free weekend and I can get him to the real beach. I can't wait to see him curl his little toes in the sand. Today all the little guys had a playdate again. We decided it was going to be a swimming playdate. They had a lot of fun splashing around but I didn't have the camera out there with us. He dunked a few times again today and still thinks the water is just as fun as ever. Lukas did a lot better today then last time. He had a lot of fun right from the start and even hung out in the "baby boat" for a while. He tryed dunking too but didn't quite like it as much as Hunter. Joseph had lots of fun after he got used to it too. He hung on tight to his Mom but managed to do some splashing of his own. Jacob was a good boy the whole time and just walked all around in circles around the edge of the sauna. Lina had tons of tricks to show us while she swam in the big pool. What a brave little girl because that water was way too cold for me. Hunter ended up having two long naps today because he was just exhausted from all of the excitement. All in all we had a great day today. Well I added four new pictures a little while ago. I will add more soon. May-16-05 I know it has been a while since I added a story and now I have all kinds of stuff to tell everyone about. Well as you all saw Hunter went swimming for the first time on Friday. It was the neatest thing ever. He was just so excited about it. He had the most fun I think I have ever seen him have. He just kept squealing and jumping around. It was just so exciting! I decided since he was doing so good I would go ahead and try dunking him. He thought that was fun too. I just blew in his face so he would hold his breath and under he went. The only thing that could have made the day better is if Greg could have been there. Crystal made a video of it on our digital camera though and I sent it to him so he could see him bouncing around like the crazy little guy he is in the pool. It blows my mind how fast Hunter is growing. It seems like he learns something new everyday. It is sooo neat to watch him as he discovers things. He is just so curious about everything. He gets so excited about the silliest little things and I am so thankful to be able to experience it with him. I don't know how Greg does it, I couldn't be away from him for a year. It would tear me apart. He is a lot stronger of a person than I am. It is already so hard to not have Greg hear through all of this. I find myself trying to take special note of everything so that I can tell him all about it without missing a single detail. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well I hope a thousand words is worth a picture. I always hope that I will have remembered and recorded everything so that I can tell him all thew new and funny stuff whenever I get to talk to him. I just can't help feeling that it is not enough sometimes though. Well on a lighter note I went to Lynette's bachelorette party this weekend. It was a day at the spa followed by a night in San Diego. It was so much fun. I just loved the spa, it was sucha relaxing day. I got all kinds of pampering and it was great. We drove to San Diego from there and we hurried to get ready so that we could make our dinner reservation at "The Strip Club" (that being the strip steak of course, I know what you were thinking). It was a neat restaraunt. You oredered a steak and then you cooked it yourself. The salad and the sides were amazing. However cooking a steak is lost on me so thank you to Andrea for cooking our steak! It came out great! After dinner we went to a karaoke (not sure how to spell that) bar. It was a blast. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. I have never had so much fun at a karaoke place. I didn't sing but just about everyone else did, it was all too funny. Thank you to Lynette for including me in your bachelorette party. Ireally did have a great time. The next morning we woke up and came home. Hunter stayed the day and night with Grandpa, Brandon and Haylee and was really good for them as I knew he would be. I missed him so much though. It was only the second time I have left him overnight. It would have been a lot harder had it been the first time. But it sounds like he had a lot of fun with out me. He wasn't as excited as I had hoped to see me when we got back on Sunday though. I think he was mad at me for leaving him. It took him a while to warm back up to me. Hunter had Gerber graduates food tonight which he can feed to himself. He had some turkey sticks and some green beans. It looked like he really liked them I took about nine pictures of that and added them before starting on the story. He is just growing way too fast. I wish I knew how to slow him down. Well I added ten pictures yesterday and didn't send out a email about it so there are nineteen new pictures between today and testerday. I will add more soon. May-11-05 Hunter had another playdate today. He had lots of fun playing with Lukas, Joseph and Jacob. He got his first boo boo today though. He was playing with Lukas's table and he fell and bonked his mouth on the corner of it. He was very upset and either bit his tongue or his cheek because he had a little bit of blood coming out of his mouth. He was more scared than anything though because he calmed down pretty quickly. It was so sad to see him hurt. I wish it had been me. That is probably not the last time I will feel that way. Anyways the playdate was lots of fun. It is just so great to see all of the boys playing. I think we are going to try and get the boys in to the pool for the first time here in the next week or so. I can't wait to see Hunter's reaction to all of the water. He just loves bath time and splashes like crazy. Hopefully he will love the pool as much as he loves the bath. He is such a great little baby. I can't even really call him a baby though because he is growing sooo fast. He is starting to look like a little boy instead of the tiny little baby we brought home from the hospital. I wish I could slow him down but it seems he is learning new things everyday. He loves to shake his head from side to side or up and down depending on what you do. He has discovered clapping and does it a lot now. He especially loves to clap when his grandma plays patty cake with him. He just gets so excited and laughs and claps when they are done. Grandma is also the one that he got the shaking his head from side to side from. Everytime he sees her he does it. It is so fun to watch him interact with everyone. He follows Haylee out of the room all the time, scooting himself as fast as his little arms can pull him. Brandon makes him laugh all the time. He loves to sit in his Uncle Brandon's lap like a big boy. And of course there is Grandpa. As soon as he hears his voice he looks all around trying to find him so that they can have a nice conversation. As soon as Grandpa sits down with in scooting distance Hunter is off to grab his feet and try to pull himself up in to his Grandpa's lap. Well I added eleven new pictures to the site. I will add more soon. May-9-05 Happy birthday Baby! I love you and I miss you so much! I hope that you had a good Birthday even though you are in Iraq for it. Hopefully you will be able to be here for Hunter's 1st Birthday. I can't believe how soon that is coming. I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day yesterday! It was my first one and I will remeber it forever. Greg sent me a nice card and some beautiful flowers. We all went out for breakfast and it was very good. Except Hunter slammed his head on the table because he got too excited. He is just fine though and he was fine right after he did it. I swear he has the hardest head. Nothing phases him. Last night there was a barbecue for Mother's Day and it was also Julie's/Juwa's Birthday. It was a very nice day it would only have been better if Greg could have been there. Today is Greg's 23 Birthday. Unfortunately he had to have his Birthday in Iraq but we will just make his home coming that much better for it. Hunter is just all over the place these days. It is hard to keep up with him. He still only scoots but he scoots soooo fast. And of course it is sooo cute to watch. He is pulling himself up on everything he can. Then he sits down just so he can do it again. He is too funny. He is trying to learn to clap his hands and he just loves to play patty cake with his Grandma. He gets very excited about it. He has also learned to mimic shaking his head from side to side. If someone shakes there head at him he will shake it back. It is just hilarious. He is still clicking his tongue whenever he remembers he can do it. He yells out MaMa and DaDa though he doesn't have a clue what they mean. I can only wish he knows what he is saying. I'm sure all of that will happen soon enough. Well I have spent the last two days adding a ton of pictures. There are a total of 52 pictures added yesterday and today. I will add more soon. May-5-05 We all went out to dinner last night for Jen's Birthday! It was so much fun. Hunter and Lukas sat next to each other and kind of just poked at each other all night. Today we had a play date with Lukas and Joseph at Joseph's house. It was so much fun. They just all went crazy. Joseph finally decided to leave his Mom's side a couple of times to join in the playing. I cannot believe how good he gets around, it was so neat to watch. Lukas was more outgoing than I have ever seen him. He was just all over the place. I just love his red hair. Hunter kind of tends to sit back and watch what is going on around him, but he had a lot of fun on the slide and playing the piano with Lukas. I talked to greg today and he is doing good. He signed the guest book today too. I just love to see what he writes. It makes my day! I miss him so much and I am so lucky to be able to talk to him as much as I do. I am slo glad that we have this web site too so that he can see Hunter grow. Well I just added thirty-four new pictures to the site from the playdate today. I will add more soon! May-3-05 Hunter had a tiring day today. He goes to bed so much earlier here than he does at home. He just seems to get more exhausted. He has been having so much fun here. Haylee and Brandon keep him very busy making him laugh. Grandma and Grandpa are also always willing to play too. It is so much fun to watch him play with everyone. It is so good for him to spend so much time with so many people. Hunter's rash on his face is already almost gone but his diaper rash is only slightly better. I found Hunter some new snacks today to replace the yogurt that I think gave him the rash on his face. They are Gerber graduates fruit dices. He had a lot of fun trying to pick them up. He gets so excited when he feeds himself. I was just giving them to him one at a time in a spoon but he seemed very interested in trying to do it himself so I started to put a few at a time on his tray. He ate them all up without any problems and finished off snacktime with a bottle of apple juice. I just had to find something to replace his yogurt snack, because he really liked having that extra snack in the afternoon. After his snack we went outside so he could spend some time in the grass. It was a lot of fun. The grass must have been a little itchy to him because he kept arching himself so that just his belly was on the grass. It was so funny, I think I got that in one of the pictures I took. I finally found something to help us with bath time. I had forgotten all about the inflatable duck tub I had gotten for Hunter before I found his seat. I got him one today at Target and he got to have a nice long bath tonight. He just loves to play in the water and now he can again since I don't have to hold on to him. It gets very tiring doing that. Well anyways I added twelve new pictures to the site and I will add more soon. May-2-05 Hunter and I had a fun day today. We went with Tiffany and Lukas to Babies R Us. I wish we had that store in Savannah. They are so funny in the car they just kind of talk back and forth to each other which begs the question...Do they know what each other are saying? I just wish I knew the answer. Hunter stole Lukas's binky right out of his mouth while we were in the car. It was too funny. I turned around one second and he was trying to reach for it. I turned around again and he had put it in his own mouth. I found some cute clothes and a couple of toys for Hunter at the store. It was a lot of fun. I got him this little toy hammer that makes cute noises when you shake it. Grandma has been very addamant in teaching him how to use his "pound pound". It is very funny. I also got him this other toy that Joseph had at the playdate last week. It is this little round plastic puppy that barks and vibrates. He just loved it and I was soo excited to find it at Babies R Us. All in all we had a really good day. I just added nine pictures to the site. I will add more tomorrow. May-1-05 I am finally feeling better. No more sniffles. Hunter is doing great he had his last medicine yesterday and he seems to be fine. He has a runny nose but I think it is the climate change along with some allergies. His eyes are all better. He does have a pretty bad diaper rash though. All in all though he is doing fantastic! He got to play for a little bit with his cousin Lukas today before the Candle party. They are so cute to watch. They both have such similar mannerisms. They both do this hilarious thing with their arms when they are frustrated. They go back and forth with trying to get each others binkies. I just love to see them playing together it is so great! Tiffany and Lukas are going to come and pick us up tomorrow to go to Babies R Us. I really wish that we had that store in Savannah. It will be fun, Hunter will get to spend some more time with Lukas. Hunter has discovered a new talent! He has learned how to click his tongue. He does it constantly now, it is too cute. He even tries to do it while he is eating which can get kind of messy. He likes to mimic a lot too. He will say DaDa and MaMa but I don't think he quite knows what it means. I like to pretend that he does though. He is climbing and pulling up on everything now. He won't stay still at all. Now that he knows how to go it seems he doesn't want to stop going. He is my precious little angel though and I will chase him wherever he wants. Well I just added seven new pictures. I will add more soon. April-29-05 I am so sorry to say that last night Hunter's Great-Great Grandmother passed away. I am so happy that he was able to meet her. She was a truly great and strong woman. I loved her very much and I was very lucky to know such a wonderful woman. April-26-05 Hunter had a very fun day today! He had a playdate with Joseph and Lukas. It was so neat to see them all together even if they kind of played off in there own little worlds. I can't believe how cute Joseph looks standing all by himself and walking already! He looks so cute! Lukas and Hunter have a lot of fun playing together. They just each try to take each others binkies away. It was so much fun to see him playing with little kids his own age. I added twenty pictures from the playdate today. I will add more soon! April-24-05 This weekend has been very busy and tons of fun! We went to a bridal shower yesterday and a neighborhood party last night. It was a lot of fun. Hunter was so exhausted! He still hasn't quite adjusted tot he time change. We have been getting up awfully early the last couple of days. Today we wnet o the Yeah Baby Expo. It was really neat, there were booths everywhere with all kinds of nat stuff. I finally found a shopping cart/high chair cover. It is so cute it is a blue hawaiian design. Hunter used it tonight when we went out to eat for Crystal and Tiffany's Birthday. Hunter and Lukas entered the diaper derby today, which was a crawling race. It was really neat except Hunter and Lukas both got scared from all of the yelling and decided that they weren't going to participate. We also enetered all three of the boys into the beautiful baby contest but the pictures obviously got lost because none of them made it in to the finals. I am sure if they would have seen the pictures all three of them would have won. They are all just soooooo precious! One of my favorite shows had two of there actors as celebrity readers at the baby expo. It is called passions and the actors there played the parts of Theresa and Fox. It was so neat because we managed to get in the line to get autographs and a picture. They had fun playing with him for a minute and I got a great picture of the three of them. Well I added twenty-seven new pictures to the site, I will add more soon! April-22-05 Well we had a long day on airplanes today. We finaly made it here at about 12:30, just a little late. Greg's Dad and his brother Brandon were waiting for us at the airport. They had lots of fun lugging around my horribly overpacked luggage! When we got to the house Hunter's Aunt Tiffany, Aunt Crystal, Grandma and his Aunt Haylee were all waiting for us. Hunter and his cousin Lukas had lots of fun playing and exploring together. It was so cute to finally see them together! Lukas kept trying to take Hunter's binky away which was just fine with Hunter. Hunter did very well on the airplane no problems with his ear infection or anything. He was a perfect little angel, just a little restless towards the end. I added two new pictures and I will add more tomorrow! April-21-05 Well Hunter went to the doctor for his eyes today and I was pretty shocked. It is just draining in his eyes, not pink eye probably brought on by allergies or a cold. He also has an ear infection. He has been in a great mood though so that is good. The ear infection is only a small one though and was found pretty quickly after he got it so it will be fine. Doctor said it would be justfine for him to get on a plane tomorrow. He got a few prescriptions and his eyes already look ten times better. It is just so hard to put the ointment in to his eyes so that they will get better. I am pretty much done packing the only thing left is the last minute stuff tomorrow morning. Hunter is upstairs taking a nap hopefully he will go right back to sleep after he has his dinner. So that I can go to sleep early. Our plane leaves at 7:30 tomorrow morning so it is going to be an early morning. As some of you know, I am not all that perky in the morning. Well just wanted to put an update on how Hunter was doing. I will try to add more tomorrow but it is going to be a long day so, I will try to update this weekend. April-20-05 Well my poor little baby isn't feeling too well though you wouldn't know it by his attitude. He has been in a good mood all day but he could hardly keep his eyes open from all the gunk. He goes to the Doctor tomorrow so that we can find out what it is. It is either pink eye or really bad allergies. Poor little guy has been getting mad at me all day because I kept trying to wipe all of the gunk off so he could open his eyes. But we will find out tomorrow afternoon. I sent Greg a package today for his birthday I hope that it gets to him on time. I talked to him the night before last and he is doing good. Hopefully I will get to talk to himbefore I leave for California. Packing is going good I have managed to bring most of everything downstairs. It is a lot easier to pack downstairs than upstairs. My friend Ashlee had her baby yesterday, he is precious. He was 8 lbs. 2 oz and 20 1/2 in. long. He was a very big boy. His name is Brycen Hayden Ladd. I can't wait to see him when I go back to El Paso. I am getting so excited about going to California, I am just dreading the flight. It is soooo long and Hunter doesn't sit quite as still as he used to. It is going to be so neat to see him playing with his cousins. He just doesn't spend enough time with other little kids. Well I am off to pack some more, I wil add more tomorrow. I added three pictures to the pictures page, I wasn't going to put any up today because of his poor little eyes but he was being so cute, I just couldn't resist.
