Just a quick story tonight.  I have been packing and unpacking for the last couple of hours so I have fully exhausted myself.  I went to an FRG (Family Readiness Group) meeting this evening and it wasn't as helpful as I had hoped it would be.  We didn't get much information.  They did give us a general map of Iraq though and for those of you who have not been able to mentaly place Sammara it is north of Baghdad and on the Tigris river.  they told us that the mail comming out of Gregs camp is very backed up as there are not enough trucks to come and pick it up.  So they are picking it up only once a week right now.  I don't know if I told you but it is only taking a little over a week for letters/cards to get there but I am still unsure as to hhow long packages take to get there.  We will find out soon enough though.  I sent him a package full of snacks and pictures and some other Valentine's day goodies.  Hopefully he will get it soon.  Do not forget when you mail a package to him you have to fill out a customs form!  Well I added eight new pictures a couple of minutes ago.  I will add more tommorrow and then I am off to El Paso but don't worry I will try to keep the website updated as well as I have been!

I got to talk to Greg again last night.  It has been great I have talked to him so much lately.  He is doing good still.  He seems to be very bored though, he pretty much just sits around so the days have been going very slow for him.  I got a wonderful surprise from him today in the mail.  I took a picture of it and posted it on the site.  It is two teddy bears some hershey kisses and a red heart shaped balloon.  I cried a little bit but they were happy tears.  I miss him more and more.  Hunter and I played all day today and I think he is finally passed out for the night!  He has such a personality now it is amazing.  I love to watch him furrow his eyebrows in concentration when he finds something that interests him.  He concentrates so hard on his toys you would think he was solving calculus in his head.  I started to get some stuff together today for my trip to El Paso but how do you pack for a baby for a month, I hardly know where to start.  I don't even hardly know where to start to pack for myself.  Well I am going to go and take my little munchkin up to his crib and pick up a little bit.  I added ten pictures today, hope you like them.  I will add more tommorrow!

Today was a pretty lazy day here.  We pretty much just hung out here and played together.  He took a couple really good naps today.  He hasn't done that in a long time.  So he was definately in a much better mood then he has been lately.  He is always generally in a good mood though, he is the best baby in the world (I'm not partial at all).  This is going to be a busy week.  I have lots of packing and some more cleaning to do before going to El Paso on Thursday.  I am excited to go and be around people again.  Although I have somewhat gotten used to being here with just Hunter.  We have developed our own little routine for the day and we are going to have to adjust it a bit when we go to El Paso.  It will be so good for Hunter to be around people though, he is such a social baby and I don't want that to change because of our lack of a social life here in Savannah.  Well I need to try and get some sleep, we have to get up early tommorrow to go to Ft. Stewart so goodnight.  I added six new pictures to the site so enjoy.  I will add more tommorrow.

I just got off of the phone with Greg.  It seems the more they get settled the more chances he has gotten to call me.  I am so glad that he has access to a phone as often as he does.  I just really think that he shouldn't hhave to use a phone card and that it should be free.  Well they officially will take over the place that they are at today.  The 1ID will be returning home next week.  For those of you who don't know Greg is in the 3ID (3rd infantry division) and they are taking over for the 1ID (1st infantry division) in Iraq.  Well Greg said tonight that it doesn't look like he will be having that desk job after all.  It seems he will be running errands for commo.  He is not very happy with this at all.  Neither am I for that matter I had my heart set on that desk job.  Things seem to be running a little smoother over there now as they begin to take over.  He says the food isn't that bad because the military is cooking for them instead of the hired locals or "hadjis"(I'm not sure that I am spelling that right).  He sounded good on the phone, but it seems his allergies are just as bad as ever because he was sniffling and sneezing a lot.  He was getting some allergy pills from the medics that seemed to work pretty good but I guess he ran out.  Hopefully, he will be able to find something to help if not completely get rid of his allergies.  Hunter had a little bit of a fussy day today.  I think that his shots were still bothering him a little bit.  He had a slight fever so I gave him some tylenol and he slept a lot today.  Hopefully the fever was from the shots though because he was after all in a doctor's office yesterday and exposed to who knows what.  I fed him three times today for the first time and he definately seemed to like the idea.  He ate every bite.  He obviously enjoys his food very much if you can't tell by the pictures lately.  He has a little buddha belly.  I should start rubbing it for good luck!  He has discovered he can use his feet for more than sucking on and tried to use them to help try and hold his bottle in his mouth earlier it was so funny.  I ran for the camera but just missed it.  I did get a couple of pictures of him trying to use his feet to put it back in his mouth however.  He is such a silly little boy.  I think he will definately teach me many lessons.  He has already bestowed some little baby wisdom on me already.  He has taught me that it is easier to smile and enjoy the little things than to be sad and dwell on those things that cannot be changed.  Yes, I know, that is a very big lesson to be coming from such a little boy but when he smiles at me it is a reminder that I need to remeber that I still have him here with me even if we can't all be together right now.  I added thirteen new pictures tonight, so enjoy.  I will add more tommorrow.

Hunter had a doctor appointment earlier today.  He weighs a whoppin nineteen pounds even!  He is still a little short though, coming in at twenty-four and three quarter inches.  The doctor said that it was okay to start feeding him three times a day.  Here I thought he might say he was a little ovrweight for his size.  It seems though he is absolutely perfect, which of course I knew already.  The only part Hunter didn't like was the shots.  Owwy!  The nurse made him smile and played with him a little bit and then bang...she poked him three times.  He got a few boosters and the flu shot.  Poor guy.  He was fine after a minute or two though and acted like nothing had happened.  The only way you could tell he had been upset at all was that he had dried crocodile tears on his cheeks.  He was a little cranky earlier but I gave him a little tylenol to make him feel better.  The tylenol, however, made him sleepy so he took a late nap and that is why he is rolling around on the floor talking my ear off at eleven thirty at night.  I don't mind though he can talk to me all he wants.  It is nice to have a conversation with him (as much of a conversation as you can have at six and a half months).  I hope everyone enjoys all of the changes I have made to the homepage.  I have spent the majority of the last two days working on it.  I really enjoy doing it and it passes the time.  I have also added a feature where you cna click on animation to do things.  The two sites that are linked up to Hunter's are my friend Ashlee's (her baby is due in April) and the Chesterton website (Robert, Andrea & Family).  All you have to do is click on the pictures to go to these sites.  Well I hope everyone enjoys the new additions.  There are four new pictures on the site.  I will add more tommorrow.

I just got off of the phone with Greg!  He sounds good.  He was on his way to go eat breakfast.  I am so excited that I got to talk to him two days in a row.  I just really think it stinks that they have a thirty minute time limit.  It is so nice to be able to talk to him at all.  I guess it wasn't all to long ago that communication was only had through writing letters back and forth to each other.  I'm glad that he can get to a computer and to a phone so he can alleviate some of my worries.  He asked me to send him a copy of the picture that I sketched of Hunter last night.  He said he has some pictures on the wall next to his bed and he wants to add it to them.  Little did he know I had already included a copy of it in the letter I wrote to him last night.  I had a lot of fun drawing the picture.  It has been ages since I have picked up a sketch pad.  I used to love to draw and now I remember why.  It is so neat to watch lines come together to make a picture.  Hunter has been holding his bottle on his own a lot today.  Unfortunately, the only way he will do it is if I sit him in his car seat and put the bottle just out of reach of his mouth.  He will grab it from me and shove it in his mouth, or occasionaly even his nose.  I think his teeth are starting to bother him again because today was the third day in a row that he has been a little cranky.  He did not want to go to bed at all tonight and he finally fell asleep drinking a bottle at around eleven thirty.  He woke up long enough to make a couple noises for his Daddy while we walked up the stairs.  These noises mainly consisted of a very loud burp and some gurgles from the spit up but they were noises none the less and Greg got to atleast hear something.  I'm sure that it is very hard for Greg to be so far away from Hunter.  He has already missed so much and he will miss even more.  But I am doing my best to capture everything on camera and video camera.  I will do my best to make sure that he atleast gets to see everything that way if not in person.  Well it is getting late and I am pretty sleepy.  I added five more pictures to the site.  I will add more tommorrow.

I finally heard from Greg today!  I know everyone was as concerned as me but he has arrived in Iraq.  He has been there for a couple of days now.  He said that he has been very busy since arriving there so his days are going faster than they were while he was in Kuwait.  He sounds okay.  I know he misses as much as we all miss him.  I wish there was something that I could do to get him home already!  Well Hunter just fell asleep holding his own bottle, I am trying to get him to hold his own bottle more and more.  I know he knows how to do it he just doesn't like to if he knows Mommy will hold it for him.  I had another one of my stay at home mom meetings today, it was a lot of fun.  It is nice to get to talk to other adults for a change.  All of the ladies I have met in the group so far have been very nice and helpful.  Hunter had another grumpy day today.  He didn't wake up until ten o' clock this morning (that was for his first bottle since falling asleep at ten thirty last night) for his bottle.  This is usually about the time he is having his cereal but he was to fussy to wait until I could get it all mixed for him.  So he had a bottle instead and I was going to feed him his cereal at about noon........but........he fell asleep for his early nap at about eleven and didn't wake up until about twelve thirty which left just enough time to get him dressed and hurry off to my meet up at one o' clock.  He had a lot of fun staring at all of the other little kids playing around him at the meeting and played a little with a cute little rottweiler puppy who had taken a shining to the babies.  Don't worry though the puppy was very small (only about 12 weeks) and very gentle, he was only interested in giving lots of kisses.  You all must get so bored hearing about our not quite busy days so I guess I will have to make up more interesting things for us to do to pass the time.  Well I added five new pictures a little while ago so enjoy.  I'm sure I will be adding more tommorrow.

Feb-1-05

Well I finally got the rest of the pictures added to the site.  There where twelve that I couldn't get added last night so they are there now.  There are also six new ones from today.  I still haven't heard anything from Greg.  The last time I talked to him was Friday morning.  I hope he will call or email soon.  I am really starting to miss him a lot these days.  It is so wierd, I still haven't taken his shoes upstairs.  They are still sitting by the front door.  I guess I keep thinking that if I don't move them it means he really isn't gone.  I guess I need to stop thinking that way and start thinking that he will be home sooner than it seems.  A year is such a hard amount of time to grasp.  It doesn't seem like he has already been gone this long.  It has gone by relatively quickly so far.  Hunter is quite the little explorer these days.  More and more I am finding him upset under the coffee table because he has manged to get himself stuck again.  Or he is rolling over the top of something that isn't quite so comfy to roll over.  He is sitting all of the time and talking more and more.  He doesn't laugh all of the time when he falls anymore.  I guess he has started to fall harder or something because he now cries when he falls over.  He loves his new bath seat that I got for him yesterday.  He just can't get enough of the water.  He splashes like crazy and just has a blast playing.  He gets to spend more time in the tub now that I don't have to hold him up anymore.  He tries to grab his rubber duckies but inevitably splashes or throws them away much to his dismay.  He is so full of life and love.  He tries to make kissy faces now and sometimes grabs me like he wants a hug.  I probably read more into what he does and other mothers would just tell me that he is grabbing me because he can.  But I want to believe that he tries to hug me so he can remind me that I atleast have him to fill my time until Greg comes home.  He keeps me busy and that is exactly what I need right now.  I am going to try and find a Gymboree type class to go to with him so that should be a lot of fun.  I have tried to find one before but hopefully I will get luckier this time.  Well I have bottles to clean, laundry to fold and a pillow waiting for me when I am done so I will add more tommorrow.

I had a great time visiting my friend in Valdosta (its in southern Georgia).  It was nice to be around other people.  Hunter was a little scared of Krystal's two little girls (a three and a half year old and a seven month old) at first but quickly warmed up to them.  The first night they played tag with crying, I guess they each felt bad for the other or just couldn't quite figure out what was going on.  He definately enjoyed the extra attention as well.  Towards the end though he started to want me all to himself.  He was really good on the drive, he slept the first two hours on the way there and kept me entertained for the last hour with his wonderful singing voice.  He slept the whole way home today though.  He likes to ride in the car.  It usually puts him right to sleep or he will just stare out the window at the passing trees.  He is talking a little bit more now that we are home, he learned to be a little bit louder while we visited.  I am having some problems adding pictures to the website right now, I could only add one so I hope that is enough to fix the withdrawals atleast till tommorrow.  It isn't a very good one of Hunter you can mainly only see Lauren.  Well I will add more tommorrow.

I got to talk to Greg last night on the internet.  He seems to be doing well.  They are leaving on Thursday for Iraq.  He has been having some bad days lately but hopefully things will smooth out once they get going and have a routine going.  We really miss him but he is doing his job and we are very proud of him.  I am going to drive down to see my friend Krystal for a few days, I should be back by Sunday.  Her computer isn't working right now so there won't be any new pictures or stories until Monday probably.  I'm sure there will be a ton of pictures to add when we get back.  Well I have a lot of stuff to get together before we go so I will talk to you all on  Sunday or Monday. Bye for now.

Hunter is asleep in his high chair right now, which seems to be his new favorite place to pass out in the evening.  We had a pretty lazy day today.  We just hung out at home and I cleaned while he got into everything he can at this very early age.  Which seems to be a lot more than I even thought possible.  Well I am going to fold laundry, yuck, while I have the chance.  I added fifteen more pictures to the site so enjoy.  Well I will add more tommorrow.

Jan-24-05

Today was a very busy day for us.  We woke up and got ready and then drove all the way to Ft. Stewart so I could go to a doctor appointment.  Well I got lost because the gate that I was used to going in was closed and I had no clue where I was when I entered the new gate.  But I eventually found my way.  Hunter was wonderful at my doctor appointment and didn't make a peep, just sat there and looked around the whole time like a little gentleman.  I got many wonderful comments on how cute he was and how he was so well behaved.  After we left Ft. Stewart we had to go and buy some diapers at Target which turned into a long event.  That being because I had not been there in a while and I just had to see everything new in the store.......it makes the time go faster.  This however also makes money go faster, those little things add up!  On our way home from there I stopped at Walgreens to pick up pictures and then we FINALLY got home.  Hunter was so good through all of it and stayed in his seat quite happily the entire time.  He kept me company throught the aisles with idle chatter, which consists of goo's and gaa's as only a six month old baby can do.  He is very verbal now and loves to hear himself.  He is almost shocked to listen to himself yell I think.  I'm not so sure he understands that he is the one making all the noise.  Anyways on to other news.  I heard from a lady in the FRG today and she told me that Greg will be leaving for Iraq on Thursday.  She said it might be a few weeks before I hear from him again.  I have gotten used to hearing from him every few days so this will make it a little harder but the sooner he goes the sooner he comes home I suppose.  I will let everyone know as soon as I hear anything new.  Hopefully Greg will be able to call before he leaves on Thursday.  I have added five new pictures to the site, I hope you enjoy.  Until tommorrow......

I got to talk to Greg again today!  I am so happy that I got to talk to him two nights in a row.  It seems that he had a bad day today.  Poor guy.  I guess they will be leaving soon for Iraq.  Which is making me very nervous.  I know he will be fine but it is still very scary.  I let Hunter say hi to him on the phone and all Hunter did was laugh.  It was so cute and there is nothing your babies laugh can't fix.  So hopefully even though Greg had a bad day it ended on a good note.  Hunter seems to be getting less and less sleep these days.  Which hasn't been a very pleasant thing.  He no longer thinks he needs a nap and fights it until tears come.  The poor little guy just has too much he wants to get done during the day.  He is still nevertheless a very well behaved baby.  He never gives me any problems.  He is perfectly content to play on the floor if there are things I need to do, which is wonderful.  He can't crawl quite yet but he can creep.  Which is a very funny thing to watch, it looks like he is swimming.  He lays there on his tummy and flails his arms and legs and very slowly "creeps" along until he gets to where he wants to go.  Which is usually somewhere I think is perfectly unsafe.  It seems all the unsafe places are the point to which he strives.  I wish he would go for the pillows or the fluffy blankets instead of under the coffe table or the corner of the TV stand.  He is my little bundle of joy and he keeps me on my toes.  He also keeps me smiling which is something that is not so easy to do these days.  He makes my days go fast when they seem to be endless.  But most of all he fills my heart everytime I look at him and think of his Daddy and how proud we all are of him.  There are fourteen new pictures and I hope everyone likes them.  I will add more tommorrow.

Well I just got done talking to Greg on the phone and on the computer.  He is doing good.  His allergies have been bothering him pretty bad but apparently the medics have given him some medicine that is helping alot.  He said that it rained there all day today and that they are staying in tents right now and his seems to be rather leaky.  But all in all he is doing good.  I let him talk to Hunter for a minute, and it is so cute because Hunter smiles when I put the phone next to his ear.  He knows its his Daddy.  I added four new pictures to the website a little while ago and they are really cute.  I am in the process of putting together a package to send Greg and I realized I still have not put a list of goodies that Greg likes on the Family page, I promise I will add that soon.  Well Hunter needs a diaper change and pajamas.  So I will add more soon.

Happy six month birthday to Hunter!  I can't believe he is already six months old!  I feel like he was born last week.  He has changed so much!  I want to thank everybody for all the wonderful comments they have been leaving on the site.  I really enjoy reading all of them.  Please keep on leaving them, I will be adding all of them to Hunter's baby book.  Today we went and picked up the family pictures we had done before Greg left, they all came out so good.  I will be sending some out soon.  I added about seven new pictures today to the site.  There are some really cute ones.  Well it is passed my bedtime, I am so tired.  I will be adding more tommorrow I am sure.

I talked to Greg earlier today!  He is doing good just apparently very busy lately.  It turns out the phone card I got from Wal-Mart was as bad as I feared.  There where only about 50 minutes total on it, it was supposed to be a 500 minute phone card.  I went today after I got off the phone with Greg to get a new phone card at the PX.  This one should work out a lot better and it can be recharged over the phone so if anyone would like to add minutes to it, call me or email me for more information.  Hunter and I also went to Wal-Mart to try and pick up the family pictures we had taken before Greg left but they weren't ready.  But while I was walking around Wal-Mart I found plain boxes for sale that are very cheap.  They are perfect for sending things to Greg in.  So if you where looking for boxes they have them there in the stationary area.  Greg is hopefully going to get online in a little while and I hope we get to talk atleast for a little while.  There are eighteen new pictures on the site and I added some stuff to the Family page as well.  I will add more tommorrow.

Today was a busy day, well compared to other days it was.  I went to my group meeting and only one other girl showed up.  We decided to walk around the mall and look for sales.  I found some really cute outfits for Hunter that are winter friendly.  Besides that he is groenig out of a lot of his three to six month clothes.  It seemd like he wears each size for a week.  He is definately growing faster since he eats solids.  After the mall I had totake the car to get fixed.  The seatbelt buckles had become unattached form the car, so we couldn't buckle the seatbelts in the driver or passenger seat in the front.  But Kia fixed it for us wtithout any problems.  Hunter during all of this didn't get a very good nap all day so he was pretty grumpy this evening but he went to sleep very early.  Well it looked like I forgot to add one of the pictures last night so I added that one first.  I also added five more from this evening.  I will add more tommorrow.

Hunter is getting so much better at sitting by himself now.  We spent practically the whole day practicing.    He thinks it is so much fun it was starting to get to the point where he wasn't happy unless he was sitting on his own, well as long as Mommy was there just in case.  He is growing so fast.  His personality is starting to come out.  It is so much fun to watch and help him grow from day to day.  He is keeping me company and doing a very good job of it.  He always makes me smile when I start to get sad.  He seems to make the days go faster.  It is hard to believe that Greg left a week ago today.  It feels like he just left yesterday.  But then there are times that it feels like he has been gone forever.  It seems to still be fresh in Hunter's mind because I am still not aloud to leave his sight.  Well I tried to weigh him yesterday, I know I didn't do a very accurate job of it but as far as I can tell he weighs about sixteen and a half pounds.  Well I will add more tommorrow.  I hope you like all the pictures I added today I think that there were eighteen of them!

I am in the process of adding extra stuff to Hunter's site.  It is all very confusing.  Hunter and I went to visit Chae (one of my new friends from my group) today.  She unfortunately broke her knee recently and is going stir crazy.  So we went to visit her for a couple of hours.  It was nice to get out of the apartment for a little while.  Hunter had a lot of fun getting passed around.  He is quite the flirt.  The only bad thing was, he missed his nap and got a little grumpy this afternoon.  He finally fell asleep at about ten o' clock in his exersaucer of all places.  When I went to get him out of it he was sucking on the cloth part of the seat.  It was so funny.  Well I am going to get back to trying to figure out how to add some neat stuff to the site.  I just wanted to say hi to everybody.  I will add more tommorrow.
