~ Stories ~ Wow!! It's been a REALLY long time since my last post!!! I just thought that we were busy when Kaitlin was a baby! I think the older she gets the busier we get!!! We have had a wonderful holiday season this year. We had Thanksgiving at our house this year! We had about 15 members of my family here to celebrate with us, and we loved it! I still can't believe that I'm old enough to host Thanksgiving at my house, but I'm so thankful for the wonderful life that I have and the amazing family that I've been blessed with!!! I hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as we did! Marc's mom, Cathy, came in on Friday after Thanksgiving and it was nice to be able to spend some time being thankful for her and WITH her too!! We spent December enjoying all of the Christmas decorations around our house, buying gifts for the people we love, getting ready for Kaitlin's SECOND birthday, and getting ready for Christmas. We took Kaitlin to see Santa for the first time, and she IS NOT a fan of sitting on Santa's lap!!! She was excited about him bringing her gifts, but she felt like she didn't need to sit on his lap for him to do so!!! :) Kaitlin Kiersten's second birthday was wonderful!!!! We had a Hello Kitty party for her this year, and it turned out really cute! She got SOOO many gifts and a lot of love. She is one lucky little girl to have so many people who love her so much. I still cannot believe that our sweet girl is TWO years old!!! We have been so blessed to have her in our lives and watch her grow over the last two years. She has become such a sweet and smart little girl. I KNOW that she will do great things in her life, and I'm so thankful to be her mommy, and that we get to watch her grow and help her along the way. The weekend after Kaitlin's party we celebrated Christmas with Cathy, and had a wonderful time with her. It's been a cold winter here in Texas so far, and we were able to sit around the fire and enjoy spending time together. We opened presents together on Sunday, and Maemo bought Kait a tricycle!!! She loved it! She actually opened the helmet first, and said tricycle!?!? I was shocked!! I didn't think we were at the age yet where she would know that a helmet meant she was getting something to ride!! She is a little smarty pants! :) She also got a Woody doll from Maemo, and the expression on her face was priceless....it was the first gift she's received where you could tell she was thinking the WOODY from Toy Story is MINE!!! We went out to my grandparents house on Wednesday before Christmas, and had a nice visit with them. I love my Memaw and Pepaw, and I'm thankful that Kaitlin has the opportunity to know them. Then we had our own little Christmas miracle here in Texas on Christmas Eve....SNOW!!!! We loved having the snow, but we hated that we missed out on celebrating Christmas with Marc's family because of it. We were supposed to go to Marc's aunt's house on Christmas Eve, but the roads were way too bad for us to make the drive. So we spent Christmas Eve here at home, just the three of us!!! I must say that it was a really special Christmas Eve, and I loved being "snowed in", enjoying the fire, and having a nice dinner at home with my two favorite people! We left cookies and milk for Santa this year, and Kaitlin was really excited to wake up Christmas morning and see that Santa had eaten his cookies and milk, and left her A LOT of really good presents! We spent most of the day at home on Christmas, and then went to have dinner with my parents Christmas night. We had a great dinner, and enjoyed spending time with them, and opening MORE presents. My parents got Kaitlin a little portable dvd player which will be really nice to have on trips and since soccer season is upon us!! We are now looking forward to New Year's Eve and the New Year!!! We have soooo much to be thankful for, and we're excited to see what 2010 holds for our family!! ~December 31, 2009
This past weekend was our annual trip to the State Fair of Texas!!! This has become a favorite family tradition for us, and as usual we had a GREAT time! Maemo made the trip up to our house on Friday, and went to the fair with us. It was fun to have her with us. Kait was still just a baby last year when we went to the fair. So it was a lot of fun watching her enjoy everything around her. It is soooo true that when you become a parent the days, months, and years FLY by WAY TOO FAST. I was looking at pictures of her from last year when we went to the fair, and she looks so grown up from then to now. I know our time with our "little girl" is going to be over before we know it, and looking at how much she has changed and grown in just one year makes me want to enjoy every moment we have with her!! She truly is a gift, and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. Enjoy our pictures from our time at the fair! Marc's birthday was Monday. We didn't do anything ON his birthday. He works so hard during the day that he doesn't like to do anything at night during the week. So we just had chili and cake here at home. Marc is such a good husband and the best Father I have ever known. He deserves happiness on his birthday and ALWAYS! -October 14, 2009
Another LONG overdue update I know, but hey we're busy living our lives, and having a lot of fun doing it!!! ;) Since our last update Kaiti Bug is a month older and man it shows. She impresses us DAILY with something she does or says. Today she was walking around with her baby giving her kisses and telling her she was such a heavy girl (which is what I say to Kait all the time). The countdown is now on to her SECOND birthday, and I know I say it all the time, but I cannot believe it. She is still taking gymnastics. She loves it, and is actually there right now with her Daddy! We have slowly began working on potty training and it's going pretty well. Kait went with Poppy and Nana a couple of weeks ago to a little carnival and loved it of course. She got to ride a pony, play games, and go in a bounce house! On Saturday we went to Waco to see Baylor play Northwestern State (a game they won by the way)!!! Keith went with us, and we met Cathy down there. We met early and had lunch, and then went to see the "baylor bear", spent some money in the bookstore, and walked around campus. I think Marc really enjoyed showing us around his old campus, and he was a fabulous tour guide. Baylor is such a great school, and I hope that Kaitlin will follow in her Daddy's footsteps and graduate from there one day! I have A LOT of pictures from our day there so make sure to check them out!!! We hope that everyone is enjoying the start of fall as much as we are. There's nothing like the cooler weather, football, the state fair of Texas (always a BIG highlight of fall for us!!), Marc's Birthday, and Halloween!! -September 28, 2009
Our baby girl is 20 months old today!!! I finally took her for her 18 month well-check on Saturday (Ok, so I was two months late...oops!) and Kait impressed the socks off of her doctor! I know every parent thinks that their little one is smart, but the doctor confirmed my thoughts that our Kaiti Bug is VERY smart! :) I was a little shocked by some of the questions...does she know 10-15 words??? Try around 500!....does she know some of her body parts??? Try all of them!...does she go up and down stairs??? Since around 10 months! The doctor was impressed with Kait, but Kait was NOT impressed by the doctor. The nurse came in and weighed Kait and did all the initial questions and Kait was fine, but as soon as the doctor walked in the room Kait freaked out. Then the nurse came back in to give her the shots and Kait was once again fine with her. If it were me I would have been crying about the shots! :) We had a nice visit with Marc's mom this past weekend. It's always nice to have her! She only lives four hours away, but I wish she lived closer. She brought Kait plenty of surprises and Kait loved them! Kait is starting gymnastics at a new gym next Monday. We are excited about that! We liked the last place that she went to break her in, but it was more cheer leading and the new one is heavy on the gymnastics which is what we're looking for. Since we stay at home I'm glad that she gets to be involved in gymnastics and meet some little friends! I'm going to upload some of her gymnastics pictures....they are really cute! -August 18, 2009
We hope that everyone had a great week last week. We did! On Thursday we went to the SPCA to look at the puppies and Kait loved that. She was so excited she didn't quite know what to do with herself! :) She just kept saying puppy over and over! My mom came to spend the night with us on Friday night, and of course Kait liked that. She loves the attention and hugs and kisses that a visitor brings. Kait went to spend the night with Nana, Poppy, Uncle Keith, and Uncle Cody on Saturday night. She had fun going to a birthday party and playing in the pool and Nana and Poppy's. I picked her up today and had lunch with Nana, Poppy, and Keith. I got to the restaurant before they did, and when Kait saw me she got a huge smile on her face. :) Seeing that little smile come across my sweethearts face just made me melt. Being a mom is the greatest thing in the world!!! This past week she looked at me and said, "Happy!" I hope that she will always feel that way....happy, loved, like she has a safe, comfortable place....our home! I consider it such an honor to be this little girls mama! -July 26, 2009
We are having a great summer! We just got back from spending a week in Austin with Maemo for vacation and had a wonderful time! We spent the week relaxing, watching movies, splashing around in the pool, enjoying some of the yummy restaurants in Austin, and walking through a beautiful sculpture garden (in the 100 degree weather!!!). Kait loves to go "see side" (outside) at Maemo's house and visit with the cats! She also loved that she got to watch a million movies a day, and have her paci whenever she wanted it!!!! :) We all had a great time in Austin, but there is no place like home! Kait was so cute when we got home she was running all over the house saying house, and clapping! It was fun to see her loving her home so much! Kait started taking gymnastics a few weeks ago, and is having a lot of fun with that. We've been on picnics and played at the park. We've been trying to have all the fun we can this summer, and we hope that you are too! :) -July 15, 2009
Summer is just around the corner!!!! :) We have been spending a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Kait LOVES to be outside. She's been running through the sprinkler, and playing in her new sandbox! She has also been enjoying one of my favorite parts of summer....ICE CREAM!!! :) We had a great Memorial Day Weekend. Maemo came in from Austin for a visit. We used our grill for the first time this year to have some yummy hamburgers -Marc's special recipe! Then we spent Memorial Day shopping with Nana. Kait is such a big girl. I know I say it all the time, but I find myself looking at her in disbelief of how fast she's growing and all of the things she's doing and learning. She has quite the vocabulary now, and copies almost everything we say. My favorite thing she says right now is, "Peas, Yes!" (Please, Yes!) When she started saying please I would always ask her what she wanted when she would say please. So now she just covers all the bases and says please and yes at the same time. :) She is such a good girl, most of the time :), and we just love her to pieces. I posted a few new pictures and I'll put some more on in the next couple of days. -May 27, 2009

Kait's Maemo (Marc's Mom) is writing a book of poems for Kait. I have put a few of them on her website before. They are all so precious, and I KNOW Kait will treasure them. This is one of the most recent ones~
"Look at those eyes!"
"Look at those eyes!"

We have been busy little bees here lately. :)) We were on spring break last week. Since I watch a teachers little boy I got to have spring break with Marc!! Our spring break started with a visit from Aunt Zina and Kelsey. We had a lot of fun shopping of course! :) Then last Thursday we went to the Ft. Worth Zoo with Poppy and Nana. I wasn't sure how Kait would do since she's only 15 months old, but she LOVED it. When we started out we had to point the animals out to her, but by the end when we would walk up to an exhibit she would immediately start looking around for the animals! On Friday Maemo came in for a visit! Kait welcomed her with open arms and a smiling face. (that made Maemo soooo happy!) Friday night we headed out to Marc's first playoff game. Then we spent the rest of the weekend visiting with Maemo! Last night Marc had playoff game number two, and they WON again!! That makes four trophy's that Marc's team has won so far this year. We are hoping for trophy number 5 on Friday as his team plays in the Sectional Championship against Wichita Falls Rider. Rider finished number two in the state last year so that will be a very tough game to say the least! Now back to Kaiti Bug...she seems to amaze me daily with something she does or says, but the past few days she has really shocked me! We went to eat with Maemo on Saturday and when we were finishing up Kait said, "GO, BYE!" I couldn't believe it! She has said both of those words, but that was her first time to put two words together. I was very proud to say the least. :) Then last night we were at the soccer game and I kept saying, "Go Cats" and Kait would copy me and say, "CATS". It was really cute! -March 23, 2009
Congratulations to Marc and the Guyer Wildcats on making the playoffs!!!! Marc has been the coach at Guyer since it opened, which was only four years ago! So this is a wonderful achievement for him and the team. They will be going into the playoffs as the second seed. The first playoff game will be next Friday! Marc sent me and Kait to another game last night to "scout". I laughed out loud as me and our one year old daughter sat in my car watching a soccer game that locked us into second place last night. The life of a coach's family!!! :) Kait had a blast playing with the keys, blaring the radio, and rolling down the window! She's a mess!! -March 11, 2009
Congrats to Marc and the Guyer Wildcats on being the CHAMPIONS of the Brenham Blue Bell Cup!!!!!!! I'm so happy for Marc and wish him more luck in the upcoming season. Kaiti Bug is proud of her Daddy too. :) -January 10,2009
