Some preschools will accept children at around 2½-3 years old; this doesn't necessarily mean your child is ready for preschool.
Signs that your child is ready for preschool:
Can the child take care of their basic needs? (using restroom, wash own hands)
Does the child like to interact with other children in games or imaginary play? Do they play well with other children?
Is the child able to communicate needs verbally?
Does the child respond well to discipline?
Is the child coordinated enough to run, climb and play without constantly falling and getting injured?
Does the child throw fewer than 2-3 tantrums a day?
How does the child react to playing in an environment without you being present? If your child has been cared for by a babysitter or a relative, he'll be better prepared to separate from you when he's at preschool.
Child is independent, are they able to works on project alone?
