March 14, 2010: Samantha was a model in a bridal fair as a flower girl. She modeled 2 different dresses. She was beautiful. She had a wonderful time.
March 11, 2010: Brice was running in the house and fell head first into the baby glider ottoman. The bottom of the glider is wood. His head split right open. The ouchie was so deep Mommy almost puked. I was not sure how the doctor would put Brice back together but sewing the stitches is amazing. Brice cried adn there was a ton of blood. He was millimeter or less away from knicking a blood vessel, I guess. In the ER, Brice was wonderful. Everyone fell in love with him, of course. The nurse put in a movie (Barney) for Brice and he asked the nurse for popcorn. It was funny! He handled getting the stitches perfectly. I had to sing the Barney song about 10 times but we made it through. Even the medical professionals made it through my terrible singing and song choice. The doctor says the stitches will dissolve in about 5 days and he should heal without too much trouble or scarring.
Comments Brice now your face will have character and Erin good for you that you did not puke!! Love Gramma and Grampa -

March 6, 2010: Samantha and Mommy went ice skating. Samantha was a pro. Mommy fell one time...nothing broke! Samantha said she wants to take lessons, we will see.
March 3, 2010: Brice turned 2. We celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa in January when they visited. Brice had a little cake on March 3 and then a party with some friends on March 7. Brice loves Barney so the theme was Barney. I never thought I would have a Barney party but it is what Brice likes. He also likes Mickey Playhouse Disney. Brice is definitely a boy at heart. Grammie gave Brice a Radio Flyer scooter...he loves it! Uncle Tim and Uncle Jeff gave Brice a bike. We need a few more inches and Brice will be flying around the neighborhood. He loves to be outside.
Thursday, February 25, 2010 Samantha got braces! Sami received 4 braces in total. She has 2 on the top front teeth. She then has 2 teeth skipped on each side and then one more brace on each side. She received a spacer on each side on the top. She is in a little pain but managing. No popcorn or bubble gum for Sami! The dentist is hoping to correct her bite by moving the front teeth out over the bottom teeth. We will keep you posted!
2/18/2010: Samantha had a dinner celebration with cake and ice cream on her birthday, February 11th with the neighbor girl. Grandma, Grandpa and Baba came down to visit to celebrate Samantha and Brice's birthday in late January. Samantha had a princess birthday party on Feb 13 for 13 of her closest friends. All the girls came dressed as Disney princesses. Sam was Princess Tiana. Fun was had by all!
Snow Storm of the millenium!
2/10/10 The last time we had snow in Virginia like this it was 1920 or so. Can you believe all the snow. After receiving 2.5 feet of snow we just received another foot. When will this stop. Samantha did not have school all week. I did not have to go to work for an entire week (that never happens)! Even the federal government was closed for 4 days. Gerville says the federal government never closes. I think in total this year so far we have a record 48 inches of snow. We are close to breaking the record. I am not sure I want to break the record...
December 25, 2009 Christmas Day! We woke up early (7am) and ran downstairs to see what Santa had left us. To our amazement we must have been good! There were a lot of presents for us to open. Our family sent presents from all over for us to have a special Christmas in Virginia. The kids loved opening and playing with all their presents. Brice received Dr. Seuss bedding for his big boy bedroom. This was the year of the Barbie for Samantha. We had a wonderful day and enjoyed making memories of our own.
12/16/2009 We visited Santa at the mall today. We waited for one hour to see Santa but it was worth it! We have this picture if you want a copy let us know.
11/26/2009: We went to Ypsilanti, Michigan for the holiday. We visited with Jamie Johnson and went out to eat with her. We had a lot of fun with our cousins, DJ and Jaden. Samantha enjoyed tickling Uncle Dennis. Aunt Erica spent time doing Samantha's hair when she slept over. Jaden and DJ rushed home from school to play with both Samantha and Brice. Brice was able to hang with the big kids the entire holiday. Grandpa took both Brice and Samantha on a tractor ride. Grandma cooked delicious food. It was a wonderful holiday!
10/31/2009 We went to the Leesburg Halloween Parade. Brice sat on top of Gerville's shoulders and was mesmerized by all the lights, candy, and excitement. Samantha was collecting all the candy the floats were throwing into the crowd. After the parade we went trick-or-treating. Samantha was running from house to house...she reminded me of me when I was young - trick or treating with Huzl's. Brice kept up with Sami for quite a long time. After about 5 houses he knew exactly what to do! He is such a quick study. We were out for about 1.5 hours...yes, hours! We had a blast .. oh yeah, the kids had fun too!!
Comments Wish I could have been there too!!! - Grammie

9/26/2009 We went to Pumpkinville. Samantha was still not feeling 100%. You can see it in her eyes in some of the pictures. We walked around and took pictures. It was late, after work, so we did not do all the fun items. Maybe next year. We are getting ready for Halloween!
9/26/2009: Samantha was flower girl for my cousin Brian Orzechowski's wedding. He married Brittany at 1pm on Saturday. The reception was at 6pm in Youngstown. Sam was a flower girl with another girl, Amber. There were 2 ring bearers also. They were so cute. Samantha danced with her partner during the bridal party dance. The little kids were perfect. What a magical day for Brittany and Brian.
9/27/2009: Youngstown, Ohio we met Grammie and Baba Duke for breakfast before heading back to Virginia. Look in the pictures section under the album "Visit with Grammie" to see the pictures.
9/19/2009: Gerville bought Samantha and Brice a new Cadillac. They ride around the backyard for hours. Sami gets bored but Brice loves it. Sami has to be the driver. Brice is just the passenger. He will be driving soon enough though. He imitates everthing Sam does. Samantha was a terrible driver at first. She has gotten much better. We were pulling her out of the trees in the back a lot but now not so much!
9/8/2009 Samantha's first day of kindergarten. Sam goes to kindergarten in the pm. She catches the bus at 11:50am and returns home at 3:10pm. She is the last kid on the bus and the first one off the bus in the afternoon. Sam woke up bright and early. She got dressed and could hardly eat. Her tummy had butterflies flying around all morning. She kept asking if she could go to the bus stop. When the bus came I wanted to take more pictures with the bus in the background but Sami said, "Mom, I have to go". She is so grown up. She actually did not want me to go to the bus stop with her at all. NOT. I went and yes, my eyes welled up...could not help it. She had so much fun! She was tired when she came home. As the parent, I had homework last night...I had to fill out all those school forms...Yeah!
Comments you should be a pro at filling out forms!!! Hi my friend, the children are beautiful! Sory I haven't kept up with you. We,re traveling more as we are both retired . What are you doing lately? Do you have a new e-mail? most of the emails I send you come back. Say Hi to all I will keep in touch. Dianne B. - Dianne Belinger

We were on vacation from July 12 - 19, 2009. We went to Hilton Head Island, SC with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Jeff, Melissa, Uncle Tim, Aunt Jenn and Reilley. We had a blast!
Daddy flew down on Tuesday. He had work to complete before he could come with us. Yes, Erin drove with both kids by herself 10 hours. I took 2 days to complete it. We went half way, slept in a hotel and then drove the rest of the way. It was quite manageable.
Brice did NOT like the sand. He had to keep his shoes on while on the beach. The sand that did get onto his hand or any part of his body went straight into his mouth. Yes, he ate sand and liked it!!!
Samantha loved the beach and the pool. Sam played with friends Hailey and Olivia two different days. Sam won a trophy for helping another beach bum make a sand castle. Sam loved playing in the sand. She also had no fear with Uncle Jeff in the ocean. Grandma made a real swimmer out of Sam. Sam can swim on her back and under water. I even saw Sami doing hand stands in the water. What a gymnast!
July 6, 2009: For the 4th of July we went to a co-worker's house for a picnic. It was a family reunion for her. Sam and Brice played with a bunch of children and made some friends. Brice in particular made a friend. A video clip will be coming soon...stay tuned. There were inflatable jumpy items for the kids to jump in. We had excellent food, friends. Brice fell asleep on the way home 6:30pm - missed fireworks. Sami was soooo lucky. She watched the fireworks from her bedroom window - awesome view! Fun was had by all. Check out the photos in the album entitled 4th of July!
June 29, 2009: Over the weekend we went to the park! Samantha and Brice had a wonderful time. On Sunday we went to the mall to get Sami and Brice new shoes. We are getting ready for the beach. Sam is at camp all week!
Last weekend (6/13, 14/ 2009) we went to a Martial Arts school so Erin could surprise Gerville and Samantha. Gerville and Samantha each had full body size posters of themselves hanging in the Martial Arts studio. The posters were made from istock photos Gerville took. What a nice surprise.
We had to take Sami shopping for some clothes. Her torso is getting soooo long that her shirts are starting to get short on her. Sami only likes cotton shorts so say bye bye denim.
Finally on Sunday Gerville took photos of 2 models. We had burgers and corn on the cob for dinner. We put the beach tent up on the deck. What a nice shaded spot we have on the deck now. I can see us spending a lot of time out there now.
