Last friday, sept 22nd, we brought Jasmin to Studioloft photo studio for some family photo taking. It was a packages which i had signed up for under one of the Motherhood forum bulk purchases, and we went with the intention of getting some good photos of jasmin. We're always having difficulty to get her to sit still for photos, so we were hoping that these professional photographers would fare better than us.

However, on that day, it was the same haha Jasmin refused to co-operate, and was crawling all over the studio. She was walking around, pushing things over, and she even tore their background paper!

We had about 200 shots taken, but we only purchased about 70 shots. 60 in web resolution (without touchup) and 10 in print.

Here are some photos to share..i've made them into photo collages for easier viewing :o)

Jasmin knows how to drink from a straw already! I started teaching her on Wed, sept 6th, cause the past few days, she has always been chewing on the straw, refusing to suck. So, following the method taught by Nicole's mummy, i used the straw to pick some liquid up by keeping my finger pressed on the other end of the straw. Then i dripped the water into her mouth by releasing my finger. I did this twice, then on the 3rd and 4th time, i didn't release my finger, so the water didn't flow out. Jasmin, wanting to taste the water, started protesting, then started sucking!

So on the 5th time i put the straw into the bottle, and let her suck. And then, success!! On this first day, she managed to drink about 20-25ml of water.

Then on thurs, she manage to drink about 60-80ml of water from the mag mag cup using the straw. Then today, she drank about 150ml of water from her combi cup!

yay!

Jasmin slipped out of the sarong today! she had been turning/flipping in the sarong for sometimes now, doing pushups and try to sit up in the sarong..i guess it was only a matter of time before she figured out how to get out of it.

Normally, i would not leave her alone by herself if she's sleeping in the sarong..i would be in the room doing my work on the laptop or sleeping. unless i have to go to the toilet or do some bottle washing, but that's only for a few minutes.

I was at my mum's place when it happened. I was sleeping beside her, and she woke up and fussed a bit. I shh-ed her a bit, then continue to rock the sarong..she fell asleep again, so i nodded off too. Next thing i knew, i was woken up by a swishing sound (i'm a light sleeper). i turned and to my horror, Jasmin was not in the sarong!

She was lying on the big pillows i normally place under and around the sarong (ks mummy). she was still sucking her pacifier, looking around her. Gave me such a scare! i was so scared that she bumped her head on the sarong frame base, but luckily it pays to be KS..

at home, i would put a mattress under her sarong and place pillows to cover the sarong legs. My MIL always laugh at me say i KS...then last week, i was telling her that Jasmin will soon know how to slip out of the sarong, and that we can't leave her alone. My MIL was saying that she doesn't leave jasmin alone in the sarong when she rocks her (there is a sarong also in my PIL's room)..

but now, its not a matter of whether we leave jasmin alone in the room or not. We can be with her sleeping beside her and she can still fall out. Cause now, in the sarong in her room, there is nothing seperating jasmin and the floor and metal legs of the sarong stand.

Of course, this KS mummy added another precaution. After jasmin has fallen asleep in the sarong, i use a baby safety pin and pin up the other end of the sarong too. When she wakes up, then i remove it.

Jasmin watching Disc one of Your Baby Can Read dvd. I've been playing it for jasmin to watch about once or twice a week since she was about three months old. Now she's 10 months plus..she gets very excited everytime i play it to her, and she can do some of the actions which is mentioned on the tv/dvd.

Not sure if you can hear the sounds coming from the tv clearly, but basically, its as follows:-

1) a little girl says Hi and is introducing herself

2) the word Clap comes out, and a man's voice asks you to clap your hands

3) the word nose comes out, and asks you to touch your nose

4) the word arms come out, and asks you to put your arms up, and put your arms down..

Jasmin has always been doing situps since she was 2 months old. Situps as in she would lift her head up to look around her. Initially she did it when she was still in her bouncer (can see the pictures in one of the stories posted her way down the list..) then as she got older, each situp would last longer. Nowadays, she can hold herself in the situp position for around 30seconds or more, which her unfit mummy can't even do haha she does situps even in the sarong, in her cot..basically everywhere, especially when she is looking for her mummy.

I haven't taken any videos of her doing situps until recently...enjoy..
